This is my favourite anime of all time, there is alot of fighting in this anime but not like other anime with people shooting energy blasts at each other, its a battle of intellects. Here's the summary: Light Yagami is a brilliant, but bored, high school student who resents the crime and corruption in the world. His life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground in the year 2003. The Death Note's instructions claim that if a human's name is written within it that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the Death Note's authenticity, believing it is just a prank. However, after experimenting with it and killing two criminals, Light is forced to admit that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a Shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the new world" by passing his judgment on criminals. Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "Killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins. Anyways its quite a good anime, that you guys should consider watching. |

I have heard about it before, it sounds interesting. |

Please tell me the answer, is fate unchangeble? even at his most powerless man's existence is never without meaning. What was the start of all of this? When did the cogs of fate begin to turn? Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now, from deep within the flow of time. But,for certainty, back then, We loved so many, yet we hated so much,we hurt others and were hurt ourselves.... Yet even then, we ran like the wind,Whilst our laughter echoed, under the cerulean skies... ![]()

Oh, Death Note, huh? I think it was an excellent manga... but after what happened in the middle of the story, I immediately lost my interest in following the anime. And the ending was pretty much stupid either. But the logics used in the manga were magnificent. It always showed both sides of the story. |

I have been watching the episodes on cartoon network, it's good but i think light is killing some people that he shouldn't because some are not evil anymore, i think light may be going crazy. |

I've made my decision about what i think about death note. Ack you know i don't really like death note, there's pretty much no action, and i despise it when light kills innocent people like rem or that girl he dated, when he does that i really want to beat the crap out of him! It's smart and cunning true, but i don't really like it, i like the more actiony anime's like naruto or bleach or inuyasha, especially where there is a hero and not a good guy bad guy hero. it's good but in my opinion not that good. hey chaco have you ever heard of the anime "Code Geass"? it's a bit similar to death note but in my opinion better. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_Geas |

The only times Light kills an innocent is to protect himself from getting caught. But Light killed my favorite character. I think you can pretty much guess who. For me, the think the Death Note was good up until around the middle of the series. |

Yeah i know, but i feel that there was always another way to protect himself. Let me guess is it L? i actually started to like L when they were searching for the third kira, i liked ray penber and his girlfriend and the girl that light killed in a fire the one that was a kira follower, and was his girlfriend once, rem too. |

I felt so sad when L died, it was IMO the worst mistake the creators of the series had made, especially the "I'm Sad" scene right before it.
Playing Devils Advocate here, Rem was a MAJOR threat to Light, she had the ability to kill him with her deathnote, and she made Misa tied to Light which he couldn't have. Ray's girlfriend was being to nossy, if she had not tried to solve the Kira case she never would of died. As for the Girlfriend that was unfortinite, but he needed to use her in order to kill Mello who was a major threat to Light as well. However that said Light was clearly evil, and despite his good intention of ridding the world of evil, ironically he became evil in doing so. He also kind of lost it there at the end, and his extreme cockyness did him in by N. It's also not to say I didn't feel badly for any of them, because I did, especially for Rean's girlfriend, she didn't deserve that punsihment, he could of had her "forget the kira case and die 60 years from now an old woman". I agree with there being a small amount of action, although there were some very exiting scenes, I think for Death Note it's a show you either like or you don't. A lot of people I know stopped watching when L died. By the way some fun facts, L's real name is L Lawliet and N's real name is Nate River. @Hotspot I will definitly check out that other Anime you speak of, especially if it's better than Death Note. |

I saw the episode where light dies on tv, i felt bad for him, but i think light could have gotten himself out of the mess he got in, i forgot how since it's been almost a week since i saw it. |

HUH! I loooove this stinkin' anime! OMG! In nearly got me in trouble, if you got to Sci-Fi conventions, you might know this one, or like it. Its called I-Con. It stands for nothing, but it is awesome! Anyways. When I was totally into Deathnote, I bought a big Deathnote book from this store owner. It had all of the names Light wrote into it. It was totally worth it. It is nice to have, then someone found it in my backpack, and read the "How To Use" pages, if you know Deathnote, than you would know whats happening next. The person actuality cried and ran away telling everyone what it would do. I am like NOOO! THIS ISN'Y WHAT YOU THINK! So this big problem goes past and when I look at that book now. I am like "I love you... But I love to hate you, too" Edited by hotspot, Jul 24 2009, 07:06 PM.
