Suikoden 1: Cleo
Only magic user who has high enough defense that I can put her in the front row (If I wanted to)

Suikoden 2: Chaco
His status get higher as you level him up and since you get him early in the game you have enough time that you can level him up without going out of your way to much. 3 Rune slots and great magic ability and attack.

Suikoden 3: Sgt. Joe, Yep The good ol duck man! The reason I have him down is because he has good magic and GREAT attack power, in the war battles he was one hit KOing half the enemies he came across near the end.

Suikoden Tactics: Kika
Can't die in battle, her Falcon rune is a MUST in many battles and she was one of few characters who I could have charge right into battle without worry. Plus you get her very early in the game.

Suikoden 4: Kika
Like in Tactics her Falcon rune is valuable, her stats are decent and you get her very early in the game.

Suikoden 5: Lorelai and Jeane
I have only played through this game from start to finish once, but I found Lorelai and Jeane in my party a lot.

The topic name is pretty self explanitory but I'll go into depth about the stuf fyou can talk about.

0) What is the rune called and what does it represent?
1) What abilities does the rune grant?
2) What the rune looks like?
3) Where on the body the rune goes? (Hand, Head ect.)
4) Effects (Positive aned Negative) the rune has?

Use your imagination, the rune does not have to follow the rules the others have (it doesn't have to give immortality, it can stop your aging or not, your choice)

0) The Perro Rune (Perro means "Dog" in Spanish)
The rune represents Loyalty and Friendship (like a dog does!)

1) The Rune gives it's owner the abiltiy to immediatly transform into an animal, (it has to be a member of the canine familiy) it also gives it's owner the ability to go into Beserk mode whenever they want and gain physical power such as high jumping, flexability and agility.

2) The rune looks like a full moon and a wolfs head in the center.

3) The rune goes on the Forehead and cannot be removed without it's owners consent.

4) Negative: If the owner is under a lot of stress the owner will go into "Beast Mode" and will go into an uncontrolled fury.

Positve: The rune grants the ability to freely change the owners age, immortality (can't get sick or die of natural causes) and the abilityt o speak to animals of the dog family (Or more understand them)

Also if I had to chosse any of the existing runes I'd pick the True Wind Rune, that one is cool.

Edit: If you can think of anything else to talk abotu the rune feel free to do so.

The question is what Suikoden Character are you most like? Chosse ONE! You gotta look at everything from personality to role in the game, to weapon they use to appearance.

I could also say I am like Luc except I am not genocidal o_O'. The way I am like Luc is I find he is very intellegent like me, not very strong physically like me, mentally strong though, emotional, he has a girlfriend (kind of) and is wind element like me. He has a smiliar hairstyle to me although mine a slight bit darker and shorter now that I have a job.

Although if I had a true rune (unless it was cursed) I would like having agelessness and immortality, it would suck to still be alive after everyone I loved was dead but I could make new friends pretty easily. I would mostly miss my best friend and my Dad.

So....What does she do exactly? She is one of the most annoying characters to recrute and she does nothing.

No offense to those who like him but he drives me crazy, he went poor from irresponsible spending then begs the hero to take him in. The only reason he joined I bet was to get free food and board. He claims to be chasing someone but we never find out who, and to be honest I don't even care who.

Freed Y
I very much dislike this man, I just do. I don't even have a reason, I just don't like him. Yoshino is awesome, I love her weapon but Freed Y is weak and really bland and is forced into your party way to many times.

Suikoden 3
Estella
Not only is she a pathalogical liar but she has no backstory since anything you might hear about her could be a lie. She lies about everything, including claiming to be borne from a rock, Rody being a water imp, and setting off to find the 109th star. She joined the Fire Bringer due to another lie, that being the town of Gordius, the all-male counterpart to Alma Kinan. She also claims to have been a pupil of Crowley and defeated him. (Suikosource.com) Which is clearly a lie as well.

Suikoden 4
Elenor Silverberg was the most disapointing tactian, Tanya would of been better then she was at giving tips to the Hero.

Igor, has the worst mini-game in Suikoden history and is totally useless.

Suikoden 5

This guy drove me crazy, having to recrute him was annoying as ever and he never shuts up, he reminds of of this annoying kid in my class who rants and goes on about nothing all the time. Plus he is a spazz.

Whew, glad to have gotten that out of my system.

In all seriousness, relationships between characters that are "more than friends" are quite common, although mostly hidden in the Suikoden world, or characters who like other characters as well (Such as Sasuke and Kasumi).

Here are a few I'd like to critique.

Prince>>>Lyon
The two have been friends forever and trust each other a lot, they both share rare runes (Dawn and Twilight) and the Prince would do anything to protect her and she would do anything to protect him.

Sasuke>>>Kasumi
Umm this one wouldn't of worked, first of all Sasuke is 13 and Kasumi is in her 20's and second I feel Ninja's shouldn't get into complex relationships (See Naruto, it doesn't work!!!)

Nina>>>>Flik
No, this wouldn't work ever. Age differnce is clear cut and Flik was droven crazy by her, on a good note she owuld make him lunch and do his laundry for him.

Riou>>>>Ellie
This should of been, seriously they are a match made in heaven, Ellie and Riou are both confedent, kind and shy people and are around the same age.

Sierra>>>>Nash
There is high speculation these two are married now (Happened after Suikoden 2 and before 3) if so I feel it's a good one, having played Suikogaiden I know these two could work, the only thin about Sierra is that she is very bossy and demanding of Nash but he is carefree and I don't think he's mind.

Teresa>>>Shin
Shin is a loyal bodyguard of Teresa, the connection was clearly there and Teresa could of used his support while leading Greenhill, to bad he left and all.

Apple>>>>Sheena
Around the same age, and they are both funny together, however Apple is WAY serious and Sheena is...well a total opposite of Apple. Still I think it could of worked if they tried hard enough.

Has anybody read these on either suikosource or suikox?

If you could make a character from Suikoden real (but still animated) and go on a date with them, who would you chose to go on a date with??? That;s a tough one for me...there are so many!!

Apple would be a nice date in terms of she and I could talk about intellegent stuff but we wouldn't have a really FUN date.

Nanami would be ideal for me, I would enjoy the time and we would do all sorts of fun stuff, however I would NEVER try her cooking as I know she almost killed Nash with some soup once o_O'

Leona would be cool to, she and I could drink together and tell stories, but I'm not a big drinker and she would outdrink me

Odessa if she were alive would be a good date, I'd ask her to teach me how to use a bow and we could have a great time, Flik might be jelous though <_<

Nina maybe, I like her charm but she's a bit to hyper for my taste, at least Nanami takes a breath and doesn't try to overact all the time, but Nina is a nice character.

Okay I know I said one, but those would be my choices, and I'd do a process of elimination from there.
If I HAD TO pick one I'd say Nanami. :lol:
