"FFXIV, too good, or not too good to be true?"

Final Fantasy XIV announcement caused some major shock, either good or bad, on FFIX fans to know that a "sequel" to the previous MMORPG title, FFXI, will be available for PS3 and PC on 2010.

A special "Teaser Site" for the game is available on the official webpage for all Square Enix worldwide portals. The game's trailer is available in gorgeous quality, so click right here and watch the trailer.

After the E3 trailer shown at the event, some high-sharpened detailed screens started to roam on the internet, and I'll take no more time and show them already.

The game is being directed by Nobuaki Komoto (Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy XI) and produced by Hiromichi Tanaka (Final Fantasy I - III, Final Fantasy XI), with music arranged by the mythic Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy series) and art direction by Akihiko Yoshida (Final Fantasy XII, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics).

The game's first artwork, from artist Kazuya Takahashi, is yours for the downloading. We're only showing you a snippet of the full-sized piece above, which measures a hefty 3000 x 779 resolution. You can download that right here should you be in the market for something new and crystal-filled for your desktop.

The game is planned for a world-wide simultaneous release in 2010 on both Sony PlayStation 3 and PC. Currently the game is unrated, and there aren't any details on subscription costs.

"Just what to expect? Lara Strife? Kingdom Raider?"

EIDOS as part of Square Enix burrows, will work together on a new title.

According to Yochi Wada, the two firms "are going to be creating a new IP together", which will be the result of "a mutual understanding of each of the quarters" of both companies.

"SQEENIX makes their big move at E3 2009, in Los Angeles"

  • Final Fantasy XIII
Opening this thread, Square Enix early announced that Final Fantasy XIII would hit XBox 360 Spring 2010 and Japan would get it later this year on PS3. Japanese 360 version wasn't announced, but PS3 should get it this Winter, also announced on the Japanese bundled Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete blu-ray disc.

SQEENIX gave us the pleasure to experience this new adventure on the FF series by showing us the demo. It couldn't be more detailed than it already is. Everything was perfect, way far from what we imagined as the backgrounds fascinated us and as all the possible details on the characters let us know the weight and pressure of every object hanged on the character's costumes.

Here you have the E3 Conference Trailer:

Yes you had it right, and I don't think anyone missed this HUGE announcement. SQUEENIX are working on the next title for the Final Fantasy series and it will be a PS3 MMORPG.
Its still umentioned about its monthly payments (if it has any) or if it there'll be a 360 version, besides the official announcement to be released on both PS3 and PC.

Next year, Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to PlayStation 3 and PC. Here you have the Debut Trailer:

  • Final Fantasy VII
On other news, SQEENIX also announced the release of Final Fantasy VII on Playstation Store.
It is right now available and ready for download and you can buy it the PS Store and play it right now.
If you're a fan of the series and ever wished to play this title, then you should definately check it out and give it a try.

  • Nier
Announced in the previous post. Click here to read it again if you missed it.

"SQEENIX making their move before E3"

Before Square Enix make their move at E3 this year, they open the new website for the new action-adventure title, Nier.

In the website you can check some of the screenshots along with the E3 trailer.
Nier is an Xbox 360/PS3 title, and is scheduled for release in 2010.

We will take over the place of NIER, searching for a way to cure his daughter, armed with a mysterious book.

Check the official website here.

"Final Fantasy ads covering building in Downtown L.A"

In South Figueroa St. at Olympic Boulevard, (right next to the Staples Center) Snow, Vanilla and Lightning made their appearance on these buildings covering a GTAIV: Chinatown Wars ad.

I always loved those kind of ads and having Final Fantasy written on them is just even more awesome.

"Square Planet On the Phone with Solfira"

Hello there our fellow Square Planet fans (if we have any), allow me to introduce our first article for this new adventure here on Square Planet.
On the Phone is a new addicition to this world, resembling an interview with the members of our forums. You have probably already seen something similar in other forums or websites, but, let's not break the tradiction and let some of you know more about our members.

Rules are simple, there'll be a first part, containing questions mentioned by our staff members (this time only by me because the other staff members are busy and won't be here for a while and I wish them my best regards and good luck) and then, we leave the interview open for a short period to let the members make any other questions they desire to be answered.

Please avoid being an idiot and posting questions with no logic or imaturity.
Lets begin with this first "On The Phone" with our dearest moderator: Solfira.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: ...
A: Good afternoon.

Q:*ahem*
A: Evening.

Q: Good evening solfira.
A: Please use capital...

Q: ...Good evening Solfira!

A: I'm nervous... Can I get some water please? Or milk? Milk will do!

(some time later)
Q: So, what do you think of this new addiction "On The Phone"?
A: I think its a great idea, to know how people react and to know them a little better.

Q: So tell us... how has your "Final Fantasy story" started?
A: It all started a long long time ago (ok maybe not that long, only 5 years ago). I was teasing my brother when he decided to ignore me and turned on his Play Station. I stood there behind him and he started playing FF7. I sat there, watching him play, fascinated and never only left when I had to go to the bathroom or when I was hungry, but even then, I wouldnt leaven if he didnt pause the game. Some time after that he started playing FF9 and I fell in love with it. So, after that, I started playing it myself.

Q: Do you imagine yourself playing any Square game in the future?
A: Of course, in the near future, at least FF13 and KH: Birth by Sleep.

Q: Which Final Fantasy game captivated you more?
A: Final Fantasy IX, amazing game, my first and only true love.

Q: Why have you joined Square Planet?
A: Because XtremeFlash had this excellent idea about it and I even came up with a name or two for it, but his (Square Planet) ended up being the best and we created it soon after that. I even started as an admin but it was too much trouble (yes, I am too lazy) and became a mod.

Q: SP is quite dead, but you still believe think there's a glance of hope?
A: There's always hope! And it has been like this 2 or 3 times and always came back.

Q: What do you enjoy more on the forum?
A: How the community is so friendly, the awesome design and the little Kefka on the bottom (/awesome smiley). I can almost hear him saying "pwahaha. pwahaha"

Q: What makes you love Square Enix?

A: Lovely soundtracks, original stories, adorable characters, and chocobos!

Q: Tell us a few words to our members.
A: Im really glad you joined the forum, even when it was still a baby forum, it was able to grow to this point all because of you. Also, dont give up on it, it may seem dead, but its always alive as long as you care for it, and dont forget you can always get some fresh news here. More importantly, be happy! :D

And that's it for today folks. Let's hope solfira Solfira had fun with this interview as being our first "experiment" and let's hope, as Sol (Sol = Sun) also shines with hope, that this place can be always... full with hapiness like this (/irony).
Stay tuned for more and other info and.. may you start with your formal questions my dear and lovely members.

My best regards to Solfira and to everyone.
Until next time! *lets down the phone*
