Name: Bit Age: 15 Race: human Gender: Male Physical Description: Will post a picture very soon, but he is basically your common, awkward, rather unstable and insecure teenage peasant, pimples included. Skinny, elongated limbs and a head that is much to big for his current proportions. Accessories: A basic set of clothes, a pair of leather trousers, linen shirt, suede vest and simple riding boots. Powers: Artifact: An inert piece of gray stone with a small inscription, which his mother found while working in the wheat fields the day he was born. She then took the newborn baby and the stone to a local fortune teller, who for a two copper coins told her what she wanted to hear: her son was destined to be a man of great stature and the stone was inscribed with the child's name. When asked what the name was, the fortune teller could think of nothing better than the sound beet. The stone has been pretty useless since that day, but he still wears it with the bit of linen string his mother used to tie it around his neck. Sketching/basic carving: Bit is pretty much useless for anything that involves strength or agility, the only dexterity he does seem to have is with sketching and carving small objects out of wood and bone. Personality: Profession: None really. Bit worked (and failed) as an apprentice to the crafts and shops of all his elder brothers: a blacksmith, a butcher, a farmer, a hunter, a shepherd and a baker. History: It was harvest season in Gaea. The wheat ears bent golden under the wind while thousand of peasants cut their crisp stems and brought them to their lords' granaries to be counted and stored for the winter. This is where and when a stout, red haired mother of six, gave birth to her seventh son, among the fields, surrounded by her fellow countrywomen who dutifully shooed the men and animals away while the labor took place. She bestowed the unusual name of Bit upon her son, under the questionable bidding of the town fortune teller, an emaciated old fellow with a strong affinity for the bottle. Bit was always a small boy, unable to keep up with his brothers' turbulent games and grew up to be the shortest and lightest one of them. He was not particularly nimble either, a trait that usually belonged to the featherweight boys of his age, so he never took up the short sword, nor the saber, nor the rapier. Instead, Bit spent his hours drawing and daydreaming about the stone he wore around his neck throughout his childhood. He was told many times by his mother that he and the stone had the same destiny, she would then go on to tell the story on how she happened upon the stone while working at the fields and that at the sight of it, gave birth to him in "two shakes of a lamb's tail". So he had a simple, quiet boyhood, where his most adventurous game was to sit on branches and shoot darts through a reed at birds and squirrels, to be able to bring something home for dinner. But he soon grew up and had to find a way to make himself useful, just like all his preceding brothers. Even though he knew how to read (quite ironically being taught by the town fortune teller, to keep him from asking him impossible questions about his "name stone"), reading was not a skill that was greatly appreciated among the peasant kind; so by his mother's bidding, Bit worked at the blacksmith shop of his eldest brother, until he got a kick from an annoyed Percheron that left him with several broken ribs, laying on a straw bed for a moon or two. He went on to work for his brother the butcher, where he became a danger to everybody else in the room, since the hatchet kept slipping out of his sweaty hands. Then his third brother had to let him go after realizing by looking at the seedlings that Bit had mistaken the sacks of animal feed for wheat seeds. His fourth brother, the hunter nearly beat him to death when his most prized hunt dogs froze and died right after the winter solstice, because Bit was so lovestruck by the peck he received from his cousin Neevah that night, he forgot to let the animals into their shed. His fifth brother simply played his flute and went about his business, while his sheep and Bit followed him close behind. They walked up into the hills and back again for many days, and it started to look as if this was the kind of job he was good at, he felt more confident with each day that passed. Until one morning his brother had to stay in bed due to a bad cold, Bit decided to take a shortcut across the creek and into the hills, just like the deer would each dawn, and many a sheep fell and broke their legs on the loose rocks of the steep climb down to the creek. As for his sixth and last brother, he threatened to tie him up and throw him into the oven if he ever set a foot in his bakery. Role-play Sample: um, err....drawing a blank right now, sorry Combat Leveling (8 points): Physical: 1 Melee: 1 Missile: 4 Magic: 2 Edited by libael, Jan 19 2009, 01:21 AM.

I assume that your profile is currently under construction, but I just wanted to say that you have a great character coming along! I actually have never seen a member register with an average character, yet I still personally like him. :] Once your picture, personality, and rp sample are up, I'll be ready to accept your application! |
