Yabba dabba do, Seth MacFarlane will finally achieve his dream! The mastermind behind Family Guy will reboot the classic animated series The Flintstones for Fox.
Fox execs made the announcement at the network’s presentation today in New York. The show will go in production this year for a 2013 launch. “One of the first things I ever drew was Fred Flintstone,” MacFarlane told advertisers. As for his re-imagination, he said the show has to keep up with the times but some things will remain familiar for old fans. “The characters will look the same but the only thing that will change is the stories,” he said. “What’s the [prehistoric] version of an Ipod?”

That would be wack.

He's already made Family Guy Ver. 2 with American Dad.

Any more Family Guy type cartoon and I just might not watch TV ever again.

As a matter of fact, who still watches Family Guy? That show got old and repetitive around season 6 for me.

I watch it on occasion when I don't forget about it or it isn't a rerun as seems to be getting more frequent.

But I don't know about this because I never cared for the old Flintstones cartoons and if he does this in the same style it would likely be overkill with Flintstones, American Dad, Family Guy and The Cleveland Show. All of those are better than that dreadful Bob's Burgers though. I may have gotten one laugh out of the first 6 or 7 seven episodes, and I pretty much laugh at anything.

I've seen a lot of people online say they like it, so it's probably just me. Most compare it to Home Movies on Adult Swim, but I didn't really care for that the time or two I saw it either. I just don't get the humor I guess.

family guy is still awesome but I dont watch it regularly anymore. never got into american dad or the cleveland show. I hear bobs burgers is funny but haven't seen any of those yet. Then again the only time I watch TV anymore is for sports and even then it isnt often.

I grew up watching the Flintstone and a host of other corny toons that I thought were alright. It wasn't something I thought of as good or bad. I just watched it. When you're 7, 8 or whatever you're not too concern on quality. lol

Didn't caught on the Simpsons though. The humor people find on that show, I dont get it.

The simpsons was very hit and miss. I hear it is more miss than hit lately though. I remember when everyone watched it now it seems like nobody watches it.

the simpsons was king in the 90's..all hits very little misses

then AL jean came in and fucked up the entire show with reliance on pop culture but without the witty humor that it used to have.

I love the Simpson's. Everyone stop criticizing it immediately. :gtfo:

But whenever Cartoon Network would show Flintstone's and Jetson's I could never get into them. Wasn't so much the quality of them as much as they were pretty boring I thought.
