JR Motorsports crew chief Tony Eury Sr. is resting comfortably in a hospital after being involved in a two-car accident Sunday afternoon near China Grove, N.C., according to a news release issued by the team.

Eury Sr., who is the crew chief for Brad Keselowski in the Nationwide Series, was treated overnight at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast for minor injuries and is scheduled for release today, the statement said.

Known to many as “Pops,” Eury Sr. was Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s crew chief for his two championships (1998-99) in what is now known as the Nationwide Series as well as for five years of NASCAR Cup competition.

The Nationwide Series is off this weekend.

I read on Jeff Gluck's and Mike Davis(Dale Jr's PR guy)'s Twitter page that he has been released, and is at home resting.

Get well soon Tony!
