I haven't followed NASCAR much lately...mostly just standings watching and shit

But this new Chase format is the gayest goddamn shit I've ever seen. I wasn't a fan of the original format, but it did bring excitement...but slotting people based on wins is retarded as SHIT.

rusty was going on about how nascar should possibly let any driver with a win make the chase as long as they are top 20 in the points. If that happens I will be pissed.
I wish there was no chase but since we have to have one I would preffer the chase from the first year all they have done is screw it up since then.

If they gotta do a chase it should be top 8 and reduce the points like Jared did in NW pickem.

I mean...it's a joke that Mark Martin is higher than Smoke in points, when Smoke's been money all year and Mark Martin's been NASCAR's version of Russel Branyan

Top 8 is stretching it but the top 10 was a nice idea.

This playoffs style shit doesn't work in NASCAR though. If you're gonna dickride other Sport's system then let the last 12 guys race by themselves and send the other 20+ teams home for the season.

This stack 'em up by wins style is ridiculous to drivers that are a top ten running teams but dont win as much. I dont give a fuck about Kyle but he got screwed last year. As did Gordon and he actually kept up with Jimmie till the end and still came up 70 something points short. Ridiculous!

Well like it has been said before dont like what you see, don't watch it, as long as the ratings go down it will get NASCAR's attention. But it looks like that hasn't been the case the last few weeks.

Brian France has fucked up the sport so much over the past few years, all he cares about is gimmicks and trying to make money on this stuff. Racing was great back in just about 8 or 9 years ago, and other than the safety features I don't understand why the changed all this stuff around. It use to be where if you had a close champioship battle at this time of the year it was really something to behold. Juts look back at 2002.

...did you just like...not comprehend the fact that I haven't been watching?

The Chase has been lame, Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus's "our car was low, but don't penalize us" shit got old 3 years ago, and watching the same 10 guys run up front all year isn't that appealing. Shit, I won pick 'em last year despite watching a grand total of ONE race [Daytona 500]

Actually this year isn't near as bad as the pile of shit that was 2008. At least theres some variety this year. Whens the last time you watched Nascar consistantly though?

I have yet to watch more than 2 consecutive races in a row all year, Jr not running well has something to do with that but the racing has been somewhat boring too.

Did you not comprehend the fact that I personally don't give a shit whether you have or not?

Yeah sure the races are boring now, but there have been plenty of boring races in the past also. And guess what there will be people who dominate seasons in a row also and every once in a while will have blind squirrel that finds a nut when it comes to a title or winning races.

So, let me lay this out so I can make sure I'm not pissing anything.

Me: I don't like the new points system, which I've been unaware of because I haven't been watching in a while.
You: DONT WATCH!
Me: Um...I don't.
You: I don't care what you do!

I've mellowed out a lot since I was a regular poster here, but stupid shit like that is still annoying as Hell to me. As a fan, I'm entitled to an opinion...just because I'm not gung-ho and waving a NASCAR flag, loving every decision France makes doesn't give you the right to be a fuckin' prick.

I think Crip and I are on the same wavelength. 2006 may be the last time I watched consistantly. I may have watched maybe 3 races this year...maybe, and of those Atlanta is the only one I remember. The points system isn't even what killed the excitement for me though. What did it was when anything before the final pit stop became meaningless. A guy could of led every lap up until that point and Jimmie, Tony, etc. were in the 20s then the pit stop happens and boom they're in the lead and the guy that had led 80% of the time was in the mid teens. It became pointless to watch before that time so I stopped and gradually I watched less and less.

Cant help that Chad is that amazin David.

This year has been hit and miss for watchin. I may of seen 1/3 of the races all the way through. Maybe. With Jr and Hap runnin like crap and just tracks that bore me its hard to keep interest. They need new tracks. Bottom line. They want to fuck with stuff well lets change the lineup

That's not true, joking about Chad and Jimmie and Dale Jr. are some of the few things that make me even remotely pay attention to it.

That and Sam Hornish.

The tracks thing is 100% true

I used to defend people who criticized "driving in circles"...not anymore. Tracks are just so goddamn dull these days. I miss Rockingham, too...and while Pocano is fun in the games, it's torture to sit through in real life.

I actually like Pocono, much more than most of them. Of course Cali, Vegas, & Lowes may be why I like Pocono.

Remember when Lowes was decent?

I went to the race where there were like 15 blown tires live...it really killed my interest in ever seeing another live race
