Dodge's setups that wouldn't apply to a ford and so on.

Yeah but I'm talking about a brand standpoint and what goes along with what they do different from other brands.

Toyota has just as much economic struggles as the others, they just never report it here. The Japanese have been bailing their guys out for years too.
They do. Their last quarter results were in the toilet.

Is it fair to say then that out of all the 4 brands, FORD is been the one that has had the most success as of late? I know this for a fact because they've selling their new line of cars such as the Fusion, Taurus SHO and the Ford Escape like hot tamales. Who would've thought? :D

How odd and I certainly didn't see that one coming.

It all comes full circle lol. Kasey and Elliott leave Yates only to end up back at them years later. At least Ford didn't take any bailout money.

Of course, Kasey will also be driving Toyotas in the Busch series with Braun. And years and years ago, Richard Petty drove a Ford (Torino?).

Are they going to be running Roush/Yates Engines or Petty Engines?
I was going to post exactly that. Kasey coming back to Ford and E-sad possible reunited with Todd Parrot. It's a good move for them, out of the 3 brands, Ford seems to be the one that has establized the most. I'm glad because now we'll have more FORDs fielded :woot:
 Established the most? I'm guessing you mean drivers... that they don't keep, like Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne.

I don't know that this is a good move, in reality though, it just depends on how Kasey runs. He's the only one over there that's competitive. Roush is Ford's bread and butter, so I doubt they'll show Petty too much love ($). Heck, I'd rather just have him go to Roush, even though I don't like Jack Roush. UPS wanted to go to him for 2007, but Dodge upped the anty after all those wins in '06, and they stuck with DJ and went to MWR.

More details on the Petty 'buyout' of Yates: The deal that brought together Richard Petty Motorsports and Yates Racing for next season is more of a buyout than a merger, minority owner Richard Petty said on Friday. "We're basically taking over their deal," the seven-time Sprint Cup champion said before qualifying at Richmond International Raceway. "As far as I know all of that whole operation will be Richard Petty Motorsports." Petty said George Gillett Jr., who declined to comment earlier Friday, would remain the controlling owner. He said Robbie Loomis, the executive director of race operations at RPM, will continue to run day to day operations. He was unsure what role Max Jones, who co-owned Yates Racing with Doug Yates, would take but speculated that he would stay on as the general manager. Jones declined to comment. Sources close to the situation said Yates would continue to run the Roush-Yates engine program that will supply engines to RPM's four teams -- Paul Menard from Yates and Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and A.J. Allmendinger from RPM. Petty said plans are to move from RPM's Statesville, N.C., shop to Yates' facility in Concord, N.C., to be closer to Roush Fenway Racing, which will continue to supply parts, pieces and technical support as it did with Yates. Because engines will come from Roush-Yates, RPM will have to shut down its engine department that employed more than 40 people. Petty said the potential of letting more people go during tough economic times was the tough part of the deal.(in part from ESPN.com)(9-12-2009)

Does anyone else think it's odd that Richard didn't talk to his drivers before he announced the switch? Kasey seemed pretty surpised by it. You would think that Richard would of talked to his drivers about the switch.

Richard is pretty much a figurehead with money, it seems that Loomis runs the day to day operations.

Yeah I thought Gillette was like 90% owner or something. Like KK said the King is pretty much like the Queen of England. He doesn't do anything, they just trot him out on special occasions.
