Oh without a doubt, but while both have improved since their last fight I believe Silva has improved even more than Dan. I don't even think (at least I haven't) we've even seen Silva open up his offense fully. He just sits back on defense and waits for his opponent to make a mistake, I'm curious as to what he could do if he went on the attack for once.
Probably lose, it seems the little bit I've seen that he's one of the greatest counter punchers of all time at least in MMA. That's why he is so tough to beat. You can't just stand there all round and when you swing you get hit. He basically uses the science of boxing, haha.

I need to see more of Machida to form an opinion of him, all I've seen is the knockout highlight of Rashad.

But if Silva is involved I'm interested.
from what I have seen Machida is a clone of Silva but he is alittle faster and more aggressive.

Machida may be the ultimate fighting machine then. Fights like Anderson Silva and looks and moves like Ricky Steamboat. Quite the ultimate package.

Yeah that's why I'm saying that Lyoto could and probably win that match. Probably wise from Silva to say that he is too close of a friend of Machida to fight him lol He's clever lol

The rapper DMX is scheduled for a fight against Eric Martinez on the same card where Butterbean will take on Tank Abbott.

Go ahead, read that sentence again, and let it soak in.

Thunder Promotions, who is putting on this card in Birmingham, Ala. on Dec. 12, must not have been satisfied that the Butterbean/Tank Abbott bout was enough of a freak show fight. Eric "Butterbean" Esch, at 5'11", 350 lbs., will likely outweigh the veteran Abbott by nearly 100 lbs.

But nothing screams freak show fights like a celebrity bout. DMX, the rapper who once was a part of Ruff Ryders, has become better known for his run-ins with the law than his musical talents. Cocaine and marijuana possession, theft, animal cruelty, criminal weapon possession, DUI, parole violations and giving a false name and social security number at a hospital are all part of his past.

In a recent interview, DMX said that he is working on two albums now because "the streets need him." He didn't mention any training for MMA, but hey, who needs to train for a fight? The good news for DMX is that MMA is not regulated in Alabama, which is why freak show fights like this can happen. Drug testing is usually under the control of the state regulatory commissions, so DMX will most likely not have to take a drug test.

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and baseball player Jose Canseco have also dipped their toes in the MMA pool. With Canseco, his fight ended in 77 seconds. Let's see if DMX can last that long.

I always watch UFC stuff. I dont really think spoilers are needed I usually make sure I watch the latest stuff before I come to this thread. the big country/kimbo fight was dissapointing. Big country is a one trick pony take em down hold em down with your massive weight and tap their face untill the ref stops it. I dont even think kimbo could feel those punches they were weak at best.

Yeah I figured Jared, Josh, you and I all watched it (maybe MM & KB), but I didn't know if anyone else wanted to see it and didn't want it spoiled, but yeah I doubt anyone cares about spoilers.

Nelson tried this with Andre Arlovski before and the ref made them stand up and Arlovski knocked him out like right after. It was disappointing to see him lose, but at least Kimbo didn't get knocked out or beaten all fight long to lose a decision. This whole season is off to a rough start all the fights have been pretty bad so far. This one was the best, but the fact Kimbo couldn't fight back against the ground game kind of ruined the fight for me.

Last week would of been good if they hadn't been so winded a couple of minutes in. I don't expect them to have great cardio, but I would like to see them go 3 minutes before they look like a fish out of water.

that was a pathetic fight because of the lack of stamina. there was sevral times they both just stood their like it was the end of the round doing nothing.

Forrest Griffin replaces Mark Coleman, faces Tito Ortiz at "UFC 106: Lesnar vs. Carwin"
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Oct 09, 2009 at 12:10 am ET
Maybe we can finally stop with the running jokes.

With Mark Coleman forced to bow out of a UFC 106 clash with Tito Ortiz (15-6-1 MMA, 14-6-1 UFC) due to an injury suffered in training, Forrest Griffin (16-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has stepped up to fill the vacant role.

Yahoo! Sports was the first to report the matchup, which will serve as the co-feature of "UFC 106: Lesnar vs. Carwin" on Nov. 21 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The UFC has since officially announced the contest.

The bout will serve as a rematch of a razor-thin split-decision affair at UFC 59 in April 2006. Ortiz walked away with the win that night in the "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy's" most recent win over someone not named Ken Shamrock.

Ortiz fights for the first time since May 2008. During the layoff, Ortiz was courted by every major MMA promotion, but the former champ ultimately decided to return to the organization that made him a star.

Ortiz had back surgery during the break and now claims he is in the best health he has enjoyed in years.

Griffin looks to snap a two-fight losing streak. The fan-favorite and former "The Ultimate Fighter" winner suffered a TKO loss to Rashad Evans in a light heavyweight title match in December 2008. He was then dominated in a first-round knockout loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 101 in August.

Griffin sprinted out of the cage that night and has been relatively media-shy since the loss.

With the change to the card, UFC 106 now includes:

MAIN CARD

Champ Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin (for UFC heavyweight title)
Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz
Luiz Cane vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira*
Ricardo Almeida vs. Jon Fitch*
Dustin Hazelett vs. Karo Parisyan*

PRELIMINARY CARD (un-aired)

Phil Baroni vs. Amir Sadollah
Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders
Jason Dent vs. George Sotiropoulos

* - Not officially announced

MMAFrenzy:
Heavyweights Junior dos Santos and Gabriel Gonzaga are likely to fight at UFC 108 on January 2 in Las Vegas, according to reports published Monday, which confirmed rumors that first surfaced over the weekend.

Dos Santos (9-1) opened his UFC career with back-to-back first-round knockouts of Fabricio Werdum and Stefan Struve, before forcing Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic to submit to punches in the third-round of their September bout.

Gonzaga (11-4), previously rumored to be fighting Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 107, bounced back from a March loss to Shane Carwin with a first-round knockout of newcomer Chris Tuchscherer in August to improve to 3-1 in his last four fights.

UFC 108, which will air live on pay-per-view from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, is expected to feature middleweight champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort and Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva

Rumoured card for UFC 108 is as follows:

Middleweight Championship:
-Anderson Silva V Vitor Belfort
-Rashad Evans V Thiago Silva
-Wanderlei Silva V Yoshihiro "Sexyama" Akiyama
-Gabriel Gonzaga V Junior Dos Santos
-Cole Miller V Dan Lauzon (prelim)
-Sam Stout V Joe Lauzon (prelim)
