I feel bad for the guy in a way. If he isn't superior in every way, he will be considered a failure as a president by a lot of people just because of all of this unnecessary hype. |

I know, but I was trying to be sincere with it instead of sarcastic. That's the difference in you and me, I know when to turn it off and when to turn it up.

Didn't vote for him but I wanted to see the inaguration. Didn't happen with the person I live with but I can find it on the late night news programs later or something. I'm cautiously optimistic about the guy. I want him to succeed and have me salivating to vote for him come 2012, and there's a slight feeling of hopefulness that goes along with seeing him take office. |

I wasn't a fan of him or McCain, but I definitely think the better choice is in there now. After watching him today I feel real good about the next 4 years. He's a great leader, and someone world leaders will respect. Now if only everyone that doesn't want to give him a chance will change their mind..... |

The more I think about it the more I'm rethinking my jumping onto the Obama bandwagon because I keep going back to my reasons for voting for McCain. McCain woulda done whatever he had to do to keep the country safe, whether it was popular in public opinion or not. Of course everyone has forgotten what it looked like in New York City seven years ago with the WTCs being reduced to dust clouds rolling through the streets. Now Bush is a sorry you-know-what for keeping us safe and instead of going with the guy with military experience that knows how to deal with these people, the public went with this young, charismatic guy who speaks well and brings "fresh" ideas to the table. I know Calhoun, GA, probably isn't on the shortlist of the nuts' places to hit, but I don't want to see another 9-11. I'm not bitter and I'm not saying its a guarantee with Obama but I'm nervous about it. I don't feel safe and I'm afraid the reminder that those people are still there and they still hate us and they still want to kill us all, it may not come in 9 months like it happened for Bush but I won't be suprised if it does within two years. I hope and pray I'm wrong. |

True. Still nice to see a change. McCain would of ran with the same ideals as Bush anyway so might of well just left him in for 4 more years if McCain won |

I tell you what would be scarier, us going to war and on that eve, for some health reasons, McCain passes away, how in the world, would you feel comfortable knowing that Sarah Palin would lead us to war against I dont know....Russia, Korea, Taliban??? She'd be probably to worry to see how she looks and if she put enough make up. THAT'S what killed McCain and he knows it. McCain was old and often forgot things, you could've put anyone in the White House, a terrorist attack is imminent. All McCain did was to criticize EVERY single stuff that Obama said instead of proposing or working on his own ideas, he knew from the get-go that he was playing catchup and needed to throw a hail-mary. He chose Palin and look where he is now. Edited by HuskyMan20, Jan 22 2009, 12:37 PM.

And I'm not being sexiest, when Obama finishes his 8-year term, I'm pretty sure Clinton and Guliani would be battling for the white house, and even though I like Rudy, Clinton is a smart woman and I would vote for her. |

No its no sexist but Palin sure put woman back 20 years or so in politics with her ditsyness. Basically put forth what everyone thought of woman in politics years ago. Only in their cause of their looks and dont have a clue wtf they are doin....yea she fits that to a tee Clinton on the other hand is the opposite. She knows what shes doing, knows politics and isnt a stupid ditsy idiot. Given she scares the shit out of me at times with some of her politics but still, at least she could run a country |

I'd say the feeling I get with Sarah Palin is similar to the feeling I have with Joe Biden. I don't want either to be anywhere near the top, but what can you do. |

Palin isn't dumb. She plays the dumb ditsy role well but there is something about her that made me uneasy. She is like a snake in the grass you gotta watch out for her. Look at the shady things she was involved with in alaska. Just think what she could have done as VP and even possibly President. |

Amen. Heaven forbid someone get Obama and we get stuck with Biden. Well maybe the world will leave us alone out of pity. No, no. Someone'll say "Biden's dumb as a rock," and they'll hear it over there as "Biden's dumb as Iraq" and we're gonna be dodgin the bombs. |
