With the usual guys having down years(Peyton, LT) or being injured(Brady) the MVP race has been blown wide open. There's not really one standout guy to be the MVP but the top candidates have got to be Kurt Warner, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre with Favre having a slight edge over the other two in my opinion. Who would've thought that?

Ronnie Brown :shifty: as much as I would like to say Favre you have to pay more attention to Brees and Warner. They are both on pace to break Marino's single season passing record

Brett Favre...although I wouldn't mind throwing Chad Pennington in the discussion. I mean the Dolphins are 6-5, and other than touchdowns, all his numbers are right up there with Warner, Brees, and Favre.

The thing about Brees is that his team is 6-5 so that brings him down a little.

Not sure how Favre is on this list. I mean Rivers is statically having a better season then him. Yea hes done a good job with the Jets but Brees and Warner are in a class of their own right now

Brett Farve and the Jets just took down the undefeated Titans. Thats how he is getting mentioned. The Jets are turning out to be one of the AFC's best teams. Brett Favre has average stats with a good team Brees has great stats with a below average team. Warner has both. That is why he should be considered the MVP at this point. But to be honest I am suprised Kerry Collins hasn't been mentioned.

Ok but the Titans wasnt a huge takedown because everyone knew they was gonna lose sooner or later. They werent like the Patriots last season when everyone around this time was pretty set on them going 19-0. So yes its an accomplishment but not one to give him MVP for. I mean hes still the most intercepted QB this season.

But you are right bout the Jets. Very well could be an all New York Super Bowl this season

I disagree. Considering the team was 1-15 last year, winning 6 games this year should help his case, not hurt it. Drew Brees has a good team though that should be better that 6-5, so that should hurt him

As much as I dislike the Jets they just beat the Pats and dominated the Titans (especially on O-line and D-line). Favre is in the consideration because MVP candidates win the big games. I would put Brees and Warner up their for the numbers, but what good are they without wins. The Cards losses are to the Giants, Panthers, Eagles, and some other good team and the Saints have lost many division rival games(I think they can win some of the upcomming ones). If you can't beat the good teams then it is hard to make a case for MVP well true MVP not the guy with the highest numbers which gets the MVP usually. I realize that Kurt and Drew don't play defense but they didn't play especially well when they lost either other than Kurt against the Giants.

Kurt Warner plays great every game. It's his receivers being in the wrong spot making him look bad. None of the 3 int's last night were his fault. All were caused by somebody else. :shifty:

What about Eli? His stats are on par with Favre and hes winnin the big games. Plus hes backing up that they wasnt a one year fluke.

Sure Eli is playing well and beating good teams and I am sure there are others like Matt Ryan, but Favre has better stats plus the big wins (except the Ints). If Brees or Warner win a big game or two then they should get it same for Clinton Portis. I just don't like that sometimes the MVP is all about numbers not how the team performed. I mean it would be one thing if a guy was dominating on a bad team like if D. Culpepper was having an amazing year on the 0-10 Lions but some times it is a guy on a team that loses games they should win yet he is putting up big numbers.

Brett Favre. He's leading the Jets to the playoffs and having a good season, many people here thought that he was going to suck and only win a handful of games......yeah my ass. Brett still have it and most people seem to forget that he was only a win away from reaching the Superbowl. Look where the Packers are now and look at what the Jets have done, he has put that entire locker room on his shoulders and I'm pretty sure he lead them far. Brett Favre hands down gets my vote.
