My brother was like yesterday; "Hey, wanna go to the Brickyard 400 this year," and I'm like "sure."

The problem is, neither of us have been to anything bigger then just a local track, so we have no idea really how to start. Anything from suggestions for good seats, amount of $ to bring, how early to arrive ect, would be awesome...

Good seats are the front stretch because it's so big you can't see anything but your turn and the straight away and short chute leading to it according to people who've been there, so if you go shoot for the front to see the start finish line.

once you buy your tickets each one of you should take AT LEAST $100, take a cooler full of drinks and food such as hot dogs and sandwiches premade at home inside the speedway if they let you cause concessions inside are really expensive.

and as far as arriving at the track....how far from the track do you live?

3 hours away with good traffic. 4-5 with bad. Could be 6 hours or more in race traffic, so we'd probably have to spend the night in or near Indy.

I talked to my bro a little bit ago and we had been talking to people who have gone to the races around here. Apparently Indy sucks. I heard Chicagoland was good for the services and nightlife, but I don't care for the racing. So I'm looking at Michigan tickets right now.

Well you wanna be AT THE TRACK around 9 AM. so you do your own math.

theres so much shit to do at the track and so many giveaways. Its just a cool experience at the race before it.

Can anyone reccomend the best looking tickets in here for under $180 or so?

I'd assume we'd want to be higher then the first few rows, but not too high...

Michigan is a little closer I think. Maybe if we left at four or so in the morning we'd be good.

Yeah you wanna get there early. When I went to Michigan we had to run to our seats and missed the first three laps. Don't let that happen, it takes away all the fun.

Speaking of Indy, the new movie with Dr. Jones is supposedly "Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods". Is that not the coolest title ever? Of course the working title "Indiana Jones and the Ravages of Time" was pretty funny, but so was "Star Wars Ep II: Jar Jar's Big Adventure".

Shit.

I woke up and was going to ask him to go on and get the tickets when I heard him talking about his car. He replaced a fuel pump a few months ago. Something started leaking again so we thought they messed it up and took it in again last night. But now has to replace something to do with his oil because of a leak, that may be over $1000. Bye bye race tickets. :uhoh:

They're $100-$110 now because for the seats in the turns which were awesome you have to buy 2 day packages now. Although the front stretch seats were a lot better than I thought they were gonna be.

I got to see Kyle Petty in all his glory go bye up close 500 times. :D

I've never been to Martinsville, but I always hear it's cheaper then Richmond. Richmond is like 80 for the cheapest seats on the backstretch. Lowe's I have no idea.
