http://www.nascar.com/trackpass/landing/index.html?mc=1821

so they want to charge people to watch a computer generated re-enactment of the race? why not just watch the actual race?

im sure alot of people who have trackpass have it cause they arent able to actually watch the race but can keep up to date on their laptops and im sure that the computer generated highlights would be more friendly then useing actual footage

I think it's a good idea. It's the next best thing to having live video on the internet. I usually watched the Trackpass during the commercials and it's just boring with the dots and they're constantly fixing it ( it was never in sync ). Bout the only good thing about the track pass was the scanner because it had Harvick ( now it will have everyone ). I dunno if we'll still use this trackpass/raceday thing, but it sounds interesting enough.

Only issue I heard somebody say is what happens when it wrecks? What will it look like as CGI?

I love trackpass but I don't understand why they have CGI instead of actuall race footage. I understand the CGI is cool because you can see different veiws you don't get on TV. Either way I think it would take about the same amount of work it will be interesting to see how it works out.

Speaking of which, I hate this new Nascar.com. It's not as user friendly, IMO.

Ditto. More Java = More sucky.

I think they are not showing real car footage on there because the networks wouldn't allow it. They're paying millions of dollars to broadcast the race on TV and Nascar isn't going to let you just watch it all online for 15 bucks a month or whatever it is. Plus, all the sponsors who put the commercials up don't want you looking away at the race.

I don't see what's the big deal about nascar.com. It looks better. I'ma tell you guys what Vince and Max (Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise) once said on "Collateral" (<--- U should see this Brian and Jared and Dewy lol):

It looks better, but that doesn't mean it works better. You have to go through a bunch of firey hoops to get to any article. It used to be my 2nd site I visited (Jayski's always first), but I've pretty much stopped going to it.

When I used my old laptop nascar.com would crash my computer half the time because of that stupid video they wanted to play. Thankfully it takes netzero forever to connect to that so I can get by that if I need to go there for something.

after seeing the CGI displasy on the TV I have decided to stick with my original thought of this idea being stupid it wasn't very accurate considering hamlin was driving on the apron through 3 and 4
