I hope he gets majority I would like the company owner to always be an Earnhardt, At the same time if Jr drives the #3 for RCR he could really go places based on the year the #31 and #29 had.

to be honest, I don't want him to get any ownership. That way he can go to RCR and drive the #3.

and that'd be Teresa's loss. if Jr can't get a majority of the ownership even though it's his father's company, then he needs to go to another place and perform, because this is going to be a distraction all year long and most likely next year too.

Whoa. Damn Jr aint playin is he? Looks like hes finally seein the big picture here. Good for him. Although I agree with Jared that DEI shoulda been split up between em but that coulda been bad too.

If Earnhardt leaves, Truex might leave too, just in time to take a fourth JGR seat...

I'm figurin it'll be Almirola's and then when Tony retires in a couple years Brad Coleman will take his seat.

After the death of Dale Earnhardt Sr., it would appear Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been running DEI when it comes to the decision making. Teresa seems to be more into the business side of the company, working out contracts and other decisions to bring money into DEI. Almost anyhing regarding the racing program has been decided by Dale Earnhardt Jr., such as putting Martin Truex Jr. into a DEI car. If everything were about DEI's racing program I would say Dale Earnhardt Jr. would most definitely deserve to have majority ownership, however I highly doubt Jr. knows how to run a company.

When it comes to running a company such as DEI, you have to do much more than making decisions regarding racing. Decisions regarding sponsorship, taxes, payroll, supplies, ect... all must be made and I would beg to reason that Teresa has been in charge of these decisions even while the company was owned by her late husband. I would shudder to think what would happen if Dale Jr. were in charge of making those decisions, seeing as he's hardly corporate material. It is that reason alone why I believe Teresa should be incharge of running DEI.

Sure Dale Earnhardt Jr. deserves some stake in the company, but at this time he hardly deserves majority ownership.

I think his idea would be take the majority ownership and in doing that have Richie Gilmore and Tony Eury running everything. It's not like him trying to pull a Bill Elliott or Ricky Rudd.

Even then you still need Teresa, I highly doubt Tony Eury or Richie Gilmore know how to run the business. If hypothetically Dale Earnhardt Jr. were to recieve majority ownership in DEI, the media would scrutinize him and the team much more than they do so now. The question of whether he's paying enough attention to his driving career will be made as well, something he does need to think about while racing for championships. I believe that Dale Jr. should have minority ownership until he retires, at that point he can learn the business side of racing.

With Jr on your team you are. Best publicity. Best sponsors. Best $$$$. And a damn good shot at a championship

Typically you're fairly smart. This isn't one of those times.

Here's one interesting look at it.

http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/opinion/02....dei/index.html

The more I think about Earnhardt being on the same team as three of my favorite drivers, it seems kind of feasible. He's good friends with Stewart and Hamlin, he and Tony have been unofficial teammates for years, and it'd just kind of be a decent fit. I also kind of am starting to like it. I'd prefer Truex because I like Martin more, but Earnhardt would be cool too.

I don't think he'd replace JJ, though. If the races had been 50 laps shorter Yeley would have probably been top 25 in points considering how many times he wrecked right at the end, and plus I dunno if Tony would let them fire JJ until it was plainly obvious he couldn't do it in a Cup car.
