Okay I know this guy that is going to go to Italy to persue his career, (soccer player) and he's going to retire as a DJ. And anyways he was telling me that if I wanted to buy all his stuff and let me tell you that; his stuff is just as good as it gets. He has everything a DJ SHOULD have and most of all, a huge list of people that keep calling him to be the DJ. He asked me if I wanted to buy the whole deal for $2,500. Even though I think its too much, I think that's the right price to have all this equipment. And down here in H-town there's a lot of hispanic community and with almost every family having a "quincianera" (a 15th for their daughter) or anniversaries or even weddings, the market is pretty good actually. The only thing that I need to do as any DJ that is looking to get contracted, is that you have to go and show them what you got. My friend says that he books 1-month in advance and that he charges people $800 for every occasion, which is the estimate that any DJ would charge. Now he told me that if I wanted to buy it and work as a DJ, that he will personally recommend me to all the people that he has worked for and all the parties that are forthcoming. So is it a good deal? or should I just reject the deal? I mean he has a party booked till late March and keep in mind that if I do get it, I most likely going to be heading home like around 4 or 5 in the morning. If you were me, what would you do?

The $800 a weekend deal is pretty good, that's $3,200 a month but then again I have a daughter who's less then a year-old and the only time that I really get to spend with her is the weekends and if I go early to set up everything like around 3 or 4pm and get back till 5 am and get my sleep and wake up like around noon or 1 then I won't have any time for her. I mean it is a difficult decision.

I don't know if anybody is willing to buy it. There's a huge lack of DJs here because most of them rather be the ones dancing on the floor and not being the one stucked playing music lol and with so much demand it's kinda hard to turn around and pass it on. I'll talk to Erin, see what she thinks, although she's been whining that I don't spend time with her or the baby lol

No, it's not. If it means not seeing your kid, then the answer's an easy no. Either way you'll probably end up feeling regret and I would rather it be for not having a few extra bucks than not being around for when your kid grows up. Just think about it.

Yeah I agree with that, watching your daughter grow up is more important

I'd say you also have to consider how good the pay is for your daily job. If it's pretty good then I would go with OS's plan. And if you get good enough dump the day job just to DJ. That will give you more time off since I doubt that many people have parties with DJ's in the middle of the week.
