I find all this speculation about which company will replace Anheuser-Busch absolutely hillarious, specifically because it hasn't been mentioned that they will definitely be leaving. All it mentions is that they are re-evaluating their association with NASCAR as the title sponsor for the Busch series and that negotiations start in 2007. There is still a very large possibility that Anheuser-Busch will re-up to sponsor the series after the contract expires next year and until we hear a definite no from their end all this speculation is all for naught.

Anheuser-Busch as a brewery has shown that they have deep pockets and they are heavily invested in sports marketing. Their flagship Budweiser brand is sponsor of NASCAR's bud pole award and they have large investments in the NFL and MLB as well. Taking this into accout I figure Anheuser-Busch will be back as the title sponsor for the NASCAR Busch series and they will most likely reach deep into their pockets, unless of course NASCAR asks for an unreasonable amount of money.

Almost 100% agreeing with ya. Except for the fact Coors sponsors the NFL. But yeah, take a look at MLB. They have a huge sponsorship in that, as well as in Busch Stadium. Not to mention that red #8 car in the Nextel Cup series.

BTW, whats the official beer sponsor of the NBA?

UPDATE 2: Anheuser-Busch will no longer serve as title sponsor of NASCAR's #2 series after 2007, Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal reports. Anheuser-Busch's contract with NASCAR for the NASCAR Busch Series comes to an end after 2007, and NASCAR officials say the cost to sponsor the series will go up. Tony Ponturo, Anheuser-Busch's vice president of global media and sports marketing, told the SBJ that it was his company's decision to withdraw from the sponsorship. SBJ reports that industry sources are estimating the new sponsorship deal could be worth more than $30 million a year, which is three times what Anheuser-Busch is paying.(SceneDaily.com)(12-18-2006)
