It's a sad day here in Houston but we were sadly waiting. Jeff Bagwell calls it quits after 15 years in Major League Baseball. I remember in 1990 my dad told me that there was a great kid heading to Boston to play for the Red Sox and he told me that he hated it, since he was going to play for them but he knew he was going to be something else. The Red Sox front office were probably doing drugs when they decided to trade him to Houston for basically leftovers. The Astros turned around their franchise and Bagwell collected many records, including a MVP in 1996 and was ROTY in 1991, and meanwhile the Red Sox remained without a banner for a long time.

Here in Houston, we still have Craig Biggio and he's most likely going to retire after this season, since he's just looking to get 3,000 hits..... wait that didn't sound right....He's bringing leadership and he's trying to reach the 3,000 hit-plateau. The "Killerbees" as they call them here in H-town are sure hall of famers in my opinion, I heard on the radio today that some voters don't see him as a first-ballot guy,(Bagwell) but that's just gay and stupid, first-ballot, 2nd ballot, 3rd ballot, what difference does it make? You're a hall of famer, end of discussion.

I'd vote him to the Hall...he deserves it, he's one of the greatest first baseman and hitter ever

Bagwell was great...but the way Houston underutilized him over the past few years has been downright pathetic.

My roommate's a huge (and I mean huge) fan of the 'stros, and he said he's glad to see Bagwell retire instead of sitting around collecting money.

....and he also wants Biggio to be like Julio Franco and play until his grandchildren have grandchildren
