In your eyes, what do you see Bill Lester as?

I, personally, have a hard time seeing him as an actual worthy driver just yet. He's a nice guy...seems country as Hell in interviews...but it seems as if his only reason for keeping a ride is his skin color.

I wish him the best and hope that one day he overcomes the label as "That Black Dude."

I don't see the Foyts as drivers either.

They haven't done anything to prove that they earned their rides, same as Lester.

Okay, I'm ignorant and I should have shut up before I started.

Great article...it's a shame that Lester's getting started at his age and I hope he finds success in a decent truck/car somewhere this year. (After all, BDR cars are utter shit)

After reading that I really hope he has a top 15 on Sunday and can get into some decent equipment cause BDR is just shitty.

I view Lester the same way I view Danica Patrick and AJ and Larry. They may be all right people (I don't know anything about them as people so I'm not gonna judge them for that) but as driver's they are overhyped and have yet to prove anything. I mean don't get me wrong if Bill can drive to the front and win that's great I wish the best for him, but don't act like he's great and deserves to be in major league racing if he's just gonna fill a spot and hit the wall every week. I believe Lester and the rest of the ones I mentioned would be better off if the media would leave them be and let them gain some experience before they are highlighted every week. If they weren't forced down our throats then we wouldn't be sick of them and in a way glad to see them out of the race when something happens.

I'll give an example, on ESPN a couple days ago they asked Lester himself if he thought of himself as a black driver or a racer. He said racer, but Mike Massaro said no matter what he wants he will always be a black driver. I don't blame Lester and Danica I blame people like that. They aren't asking to be treated differently, but they are being treated differently and it causes others to resent them because they are different and because they are getting media attention and spotlight that they may not deserve because of their on track performance.
