UPDATE 2: Sources close to Michael Waltrip say he is in the running to take a full-time ride with Joe Gibbs, after the departure of Jason Leffler [#11 Fed-Ex Chevy]. Gibbs may move the FedEx sponsorship from his new third team to Bobby Labonte's #18 team next season, and that would open up a quarterpanel for NAPA, Waltrip's long-time sponsor at DEI.(Winston Salem Journal)(8-11-2005)

How many times does the stupid "FedEx" 18 car rumor have to appear? Damn you, Spencer. Damn you.

But Mikey in the 11'd be alright.

well its very well know interstate batteries cant afford the full sponcership so an interstate/napa car would make sence ....BUT napa sells their own batteries so that would be a conflict.. i think.. unless napa buys their batteries from interstate

Interstate/Gla-whatever/Smith/Klein have sponsered Bobby for years and years...so I don't see where that's a problem.

Well, yeah...but why a Napa/Interstate car (which would be Mikey, I assume)? I think Interstate is really behind Bobby (sorta like Napa is with Waltrip)

the president of interstate has come and said numerous times that they cant afford it thats why glaxo smith kline was able to come in and why they were so willing to let the passion and fed ex on the car with such a short notice.. im pretty sure the president of interstate is a reliable source on what they can and cant afford

Why not a Interstate/FedEx and a FedEx/Napa car?

Or Interstate drop back to a major associate on all three cars, Fed Ex take over the 18 sponsorship and NAPA be the primary on the 11.

I have a book of his they were giving away at the bookstore once lol.

Anyway, Interstate isn't a zillion dollar company like some of the sponsors they're competing with. That's why in 2001 he used to always run those MBNA and Circuit City hoods.

Actually, this makes sense...

Tony Stewart = Home Depot
Bobby = Interstate/FedEx (and they could give it a sweet Yeley-like scheme)
Mikey = Napa

I just don't see Interstate leaving the sport altogether (as Mr. Spencer suggested)

Man, Mikey or Terry would be awesome in the 11 car full time.

Well, since this is an 11 car topic, I just realized something.

Denny Hamlin has 7 top 10s and 1 top 5.

...Yeley's got 7 top 10s and 2 tops 5s.

:D Now, I knew he'd come around!
