Everyone knew it was going to kick the crap out of the Fusion, but I think it went for overkill.

That is one awesome race car.

As much as everyone bashed the new Charger, it looks a lot more like one, especially the headlight to fender area.

It's nice looking, but it seems like the Cup cars are looking less and less like their street counterparts.

The 2002 headlights were the coolest. 2003-2005's looks like nothing on a Chevy car.

They may not look like the actual car but if you think the 2002s look cooler than the '03s-'05s, all I can ask is when was your last CT scan?

2002 looked more agressive. 2005 looks like a bloated cat's eye.

It's nice looking, but it seems like the Cup cars are looking less and less like their street counterparts.

The only part of the car that is actually stock is the hood and trunk. Every other part is nothing like the car and is custom built by teams for Nascar.

I like the headlights, but I wish they didn't modify the body. I don't think they actually did much other than make it shorter and wider, but I think once teams start building them, it'll look about the same, just with this smaller grill and different headlights. Big whoop. Damn common templates are taking away what little character these cars had left. All we have to distinguish them from one another are the grills ( which are nothing like the actual car they are supposed to resemble ) and those stickers we call headlights.

Blame it as much on the manufactures. I would love to see differences between all makes, however that isn't going to happen. Especially when the major automakers seem to want to clone each other's vehicles. About the only makes that have differences are suv's and truck's.

Well the thing is is that when a company tries to make a racecar look like a street car, it doesn't perform as well (see 2005 Charger). In order to run at optimum levels, a make has to make the racecar look less and less like the street version. I think this is a pretty disappointing thing. F1 is building the best car possible but Nascar should be what they say it is, a STOCK car racing series.

I wouldn't even car if the noses were made identical with the manufactures decals slapped on them. Just one less varible.

Yeah, I liked the Grand Prix ( kinda ), but I don't see it in this car. It's gotta have the large two-grill thing Pontiac always had for it to even remotely resemble the Grand Prix for me.

I agree. They don't look anything like the street cars anyway, and a person doesn't go "ah! That's a ____ spoiler there!", they look at the headlight decal or the Chevy/Ford/Dodge decal to identify what brand it is.
