Contreras secures seat for The Glen UPDATE: Carlos Contreras has secured a seat in the Busch series' return to Watkins Glen on August 13th. Contreras obtained his first NASCAR Top 10 at the Glen in 2000 while running in the Craftsman Truck Series. An announcement regarding the team Contreras will run with will be made soon. For now Contreras continues to look for a Cup ride to complete his weekend at the Glen's challenging road course.(VMG PR)(7-7-2005)
UPDATE: FitzBradshaw Racing has announced Carlos Contreras as the driver of the No. 40 Goulds Pumps Dodge Charger for the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International on August 13. It will be the second time Contreras, the most accomplished Hispanic driver in NASCAR, has driven for FitzBradshaw Racing this season. (FBR PR via BGNRacing.com)(8-4-2005)

Contreras, the most accomplished Hispanic driver in NASCAR

Well gee thats such a huge accomplishment. How many Hispanic drivers have started races? Not counting the people that ran the Mexico City race, I count Contreras and Jourdain (And Adrian Fernandez later in the year).
