Pathetic. Thats like saying Chevrolets cant race in NASCAR for a certain race. Just pathetic.

that would be cool? :D

But it makes the Fords look bad.

Actually, it'd be like if Sadler and Jarrett got on the track against Lepage, Long, Petty, and Harmon.

and yet f1 wonder why nobody in the us could give 2 lumps of monkey crap about their sport

I do. is better then INDY car racing and the Champ Car series which I saw today and Cristiano DeMatta won today, Sebastian Bourdais was 2nd, Paul Tracy 3rd and my mexican fellow Mario Dominguez finished 4th at the Portland Grand Prix.

and I don't blame the teams. If I was an owner and I had tire issue I wouldn't let my driver go out there especially in a F1 car.

The FIA isn't as "eager" to bend the rules as NASCAR is- ie 2001 Winston.

i seem to remember a while back in the montreal race all the cars wrecked on the start and they got the back up cars out.. i dont know shit bout f1 though so that might be ok in the rules

I agree. I don't see how it's the teams' fault. The repercusions would be HUGE if a driver were to get hurt at the USGP if he was in Michelins. I think it's Michelin's and the FIA's fault for not compromising. The Michelin teams were willing to forfeit points just to get out there and race if the FIA would compromise too.

but this doesn't look good for Formula one. first the naive comments from the CEO Bernie Ecclestone towards Danica Patrick and now the tire issues. not a good week for the sport.

I know back then the primary drivers could go to a backup if it was early in the race, I'm not exactly sure how it is now.

wow. I don't blame the fans booing though.

I just hope the Cup cars don't encounter any tire issues due to the tracks' condition. because at the 500 that pavement looked horrible.

you kiding me? that's like saying all ford and dodge engines are deemed unsafe...so now all teams must use chevy engines for this race....and while the ford and chevy teams are at it, they would/could also take all of the chevy engine secrets....

No way bridgestone would agree upon allowing all michilen teams using thier stuff. and i don't even think they have that many tires to go around since every single tire changes from race to race.

Take an alternate pronunciation on "Grand Prix" to get my feelings on Max Mosely and the FIA.
