Mike Ford new crew chief at the #11? UPDATE: hearing former #88 RYR and #9 Evernham Motorsports crew chief, Mike Ford, will be hired to take over the crew chief duties of the #11 Fed-Ex Chevy that Jason Leffler drives. Dave Rogers is the current crew chief, not sure if he would stay with Joe Gibbs Racing.(6-6-2005) UPDATE: Today, a source close to Joe Gibbs Racing told me [NASCAR Nation's Ralph Sheheen] that Mike Ford will be named the new crew chief for the #11 and that he will be sitting on top of the pit box when the team races this coming weekend in Pocono.' I [Sheheen] also spoke to team president J.D. Gibbs who told me the team wasn't ready to officially announce anything but did say they were talking to Ford. Leffler's current crew chief Dave Rogers will stay with the team but in a different capacity.(FoxSports/NASCAR Nation)(6-7-2005) You never know, Jason might just need someone who's been down the road before (Dave Rogers is a rookie, correct?) and Mike Ford might be the guy. It seems like guys from other teams I root for are coming to JGR. Steve Addington (PPC Racing and Jason Keller), Jason Ratcliff (Brewco and David Green), and now possibly Mike Ford (Yates and DJ). |

Yes, Rodgers is a rookie and I've wanted JGR to release him for a LONG time now. The "Leffler out?" rumors annoyed the piss outta me, because I think the crew chiefs is to blame. |

Agreed 100%. It sorta shows how NASCAR and the majority of its fans are, though. Despite a rookie crew chief and a brand new team, Leffler's taken the brunt of the blame for the poor performance. Here's to hoping the FedEx team starts getting a few top 15/top 10 finishes. |

Unfortunately in Nascar, in order for 10 guys to be top 10 as far as success, there's got to be 33 guys not. |
