Everyone's wigging out about what Jeff said (and I'm sure the same about Tony), they seem to forget this is in the heat of the moment. Things will be a bit different by tomorrow.

i still think these 2 are playing games with the media.. the media wants these 2 to hate eachother so much

Who knows.

Well I guess they know. It wouldn't surprise me though.

That's exactly what I think they're all doing as well. They're trying to make an ass out of the media and I think it's hilarius. We desperately need to get rid of some of these shitty reporters.

I disagree with Tony's comments though. I don't know why people always have to say that about each other. They know damn well they do the same thing sometimes. I don't see how he thinks Jeff and Jimmie (and Ryan) think the track is all theirs. I mean, I've never heard them say that. Sometimes drivers chew out somebody else for wrecking them and then go wreck somebody themselves a week or so later. I just wish none of them would make it sound like they're inocent or that somebody else always acts like they are. You're going to regret it. Jimmie obviously has made himself look kind of like an ass after what he said at Daytona. I don't know what that quote was that Rusty used at Daytona but I agree 100% with him.

Good gosh Newman is impossible to pass when he has 2 and a half tires. What did Kurt say about him (something like a driver with no head in a fast car)...

I'm gonna be short, sweet, and simple.

He's still my favorite driver and racing hero, but Tony Stewart was an idiot today.

I guess you're right. He needs to let people by when they're faster than him.

"I got into the back of him. It doesn't take much of a rocket scientist to figure that out," said Stewart.

"Everybody else was doing a pretty good job of give-and-take. It's just when you get around Jeff I guess the rules are different with him. He does more taking than he does giving. But the intention wasn't to knock him up out of the way. I just wanted to get behind him close enough that he knew I was there to say, 'Hey, you know, let us go and if you're faster we'll let you go.' And we've always done that with him. But if somebody does something to Jeff it's always their fault."

Not sure whether I'm with Tony on this one or not. Video looks like he just drove in the back of him and the deals with Johnson and Riggs don't indicate much in the opposite either. Ah well, hopefully by the time Pocono rolls around things will be settled and it won't include another wadded up DuPont Chevrolet or a wrecked Home Depot Monte Carlo.

Agreed. That's over and done with, as far as I'm concerned. They're not gonna do anything stupid from here on out because I wouldn't consider them to be exactly in the "comfort zone" points wise.

Hopefully this is just a one race lapse for Smoke and he can get back on track on the Bermuda Triangle next week. Maybe even pull Big Orange back in Victory Lane.

That spot is reserved for Big Red, though, come to reclaim it's turf from '02. :cooljoe:

Yeah, they didn't do a good job of replaying the Riggs deal so you're probably right on that one. I'll be a hundred dollars that it was Scotty that sent Tony up the track even though they never replayed it though.

What? Crashing on the backstretch? Junior never won at Pocono either.

um NEWSFLASH! Tony is an aggresive driver :o  please. I agree with the media thing but we all know one thing: Tony is an aggresive driver. now you might say that i'm trashing tony. well I'm not, THAT'S the reason I like Tony he's aggresive and has that tough son of a bitch mentality and that's what makes him great to watch. at first I was saying "what's the problem with Tony?" but that's the way he is, an aggresive driver. and that's a good thing.

From Mark's post race thing:

ON TONY STEWART SAYING THAT MARK MARTIN SHOULD START A SCHOOL ON HOW TO DRIVE RESEPECTFULLY.
"I do make mistakes, too. But, and I'm not sure Jeff Gordon needs to attend one of my seminars, but I do think that Tony Stewart ought to hold court and teach some of these young guys how to give the older guys that have been there the respect that they have coming. You've got some that do and you've got some that don't, and that doesn't mix and that's what happens on the race track. And that all gets back to when someone's faster than someone else and it's 100 laps in or 10 laps in or 300 laps in, you can do one of two things. Man, we used to fix these things ourselves. And we used to get fired if we wrecked 'em. You'd wreck one about four, five, six times and you're out of a ride. That's not like that anymore. You can wreck 'em every week and it seems like you can keep your job. So there's a lot of reasons why we have accidents today and I can't bash 'em all. I'm under pressure, too. I wrecked a lot of cars the year before last, too, because my car ran in the middle of the pack and it's wild back there and you have to race really hard. If you race for 25th, I don't care who you are, you're going to get tore up a lot more than if you race in the top 10."

"But if somebody does something to Jeff it's always their fault."

You know, with that statement right there, he's being hypocritical. Instead of just taking the blame for it and being quiet, he's got to make somebody else seem like the bad guy at the same time. As for the deal with Jimmie. Tony just plain cut down like Jimmie was never there. I don't remember seeing them hit again, but hopefully it was nothing major.
