I figured we need a thread here to discuss things privately. Such as this:

From EuroSoviets:

- Interest of attending regions.
- Suggestion of other interested parties.

There are a lot of people here not officially part of the CSA and since we're running several topics in parallel, I thought we could skip to this part of the CSA organizational discussion, to clear up the ambiguity on whether the regions here represented - Jethnea, FCSTO and Q102 are to be part of the Collective Security Agreements.

I know that an FCSTO representative has already indicated that he would like to see his federation of regions join the CSA. What of the other two regions? This thread should primarily be for those regions to approach us with the involvement they envision themselves having in the CSA, whether as members or just as continuing 'interested parties' to the discussions we'll regularly have.

It should also be for members of the CSA to discuss the admission of new members to the organization. Since most of us agreed to invite the regions that have turned up, I should think most of us are in favour of their applications - should such arise - to join the CSA. If there is no serious dispute regarding this, then once the representatives from each region have had a chance to comment, I see no reason why we should not simply seek permission from the central legislative bodies of Genosha, Peaceian and Allied States of EuroIslanders to allow the others to ratify the treaty.

So, what are we to do?

to me it seems to be a defender alliance. we can not be a part of that due to our neutrality. i'll let them know.

So we are remaining neutral? Maybe this should be debated. We are being invited to join a defender alliance. I think everyone probably knowws my stance, but I'd like to hear other's views.

OK, I am becomming quite split on such things these days. Part of me thinks that joing something like this would be ideal, and that we should abondon our neautrality. The reason I say this is because we are recruiting and recruiting and recruiting and the numbers remain low. Perhaps actually taking a stance may make people want to come here.

However on the other hand, I am dead against this. I dont think it suits Q102's ideaology nor the ideas which schotze and nev had in mind when the created this place. As it has been debated previously, not everyone wants to be part of a defender/invader region, and such measures may be more damaging then anything else.

I perhaps think that more suitable alliances (e.g. Europa) should be persued over defender/invader alliances.

yeah, this was what i was thinking. we have been given a chance to join a defender alliance that may boost our population and may increase activity. Also it could help strengthen international relations with regions.

However we would not want to go back on the ideals of our founding fathers. i would really like to hear nev's view on this.

I joined Q102 to get out of this game aspect, and I genuinely feel without it we become just another generic region. Our fame in the NS world for a long time has been about our Free Port mentality.

I'm all for non-military alliances, don't get me wrong, but I am fundamentaly opposed to Q102 joining a Defender Alliance. However, I will trust the advice of Nev and Schotze over where they think their region should go.

I'm with PC on this. I am strongly opposed to seeing Q102 join a defender alliance, as a lot of our NS respect comes from our neutral stance. I would hate to see us forget our ideals after coming so far. The only way I would agree to supporting this was if either or both of the Founders decided it was for the best, as I trust their decision.

I agree, I have no problem with alliances but I totally oppose joining any defender/invader grouping at all. Other types of political alliance are more interesting.
