Ok. This is very rough, sort of thrown together, and the wording isn't great. Discuss. Treaty of Alliance and Friendship Between the two Great Regions of Q102 and Europa Article I This alliance is ratified by the people of both regions, and as such should only be dissolved by the same and that henceforth the aforementioned regions are to be considered in alliance, and declared as such wherever necessary. Article II - Citizens of either region should be considered the equal of citizens in the other, though their running for political office may be restricted by laws already existing or made henceforth. They should obey the laws of the region they are currently in, and should be free to move between the same. This article does apply to puppet nations. Article III Due to existing laws, the giving of military aid is not a necessity of this treaty, though individual nations are encouraged to volunteer their aid if they so wish, and should not be penalised for doing so. Article IV With consideration for, and authority over, Article II, any nation from either region, who, in any way shape or form, is thought to be disruptive, discourteous or disregarding towards either region or the laws present there, is to be tried in his home region using the procedures in place. The outcome of that trial is to be final in both regions. Puppet nations should be tried in the nation they reside in. The ruling still stands n both regions. Article V With regards to Article IV, if a nation is banned from either of the aforementioned regions, they should be banned from the other as well. However, a pardoned nation does not have its pardon extended to both regions. Article VI No alliance or similar document, past or future, should interfere with this document or its contents without express permission by the governing bodies of both regions. Article VII This document does not interfere with, nor grant any other region (including the two named ones) the right to interfere with, the others laws, customs, traditions or style of government. Each region is responsible for their own running. Article IIX If a nation is seen to be publicly insulting towards, or otherwise derogatory to, either this treaty or either of its named regions, they are to be reported to their home region and sanctioned. Article IX With regards to Article I, if either region ceases to exist, for any reason, this treaty should be considered irrelevant and should be dissolved. Article X- Reinforcing Article VII, this document does not grant either government the authority to interfere with the others running of day-to-day affairs. However, it may be advantageous to run any mutually affecting documents through the parliamentary system of the other region. |

Well I can't think of anything more. Very well done PC. Excellently written. Perhaps an article, or ammendment to article III, encouraging military aid, but not enforcing it. |

Changed the wording of article three from "may volunteer" to "are encouraged to volunteer". Anything else? Tag, your views? |

Typical, all the action takes place the one day I don't log on! Sorry guys, we've been having an end-of-exams party
:) However, I like the draft very much, well worded and covers all the points I can think of. Nice one, PC :) |

I'm waiting for feedback from the Senate. They're taking annoyingly long, especially since it's sort of an urgent thing, now there is a draft for the treaty, and that most of them have logged on during the day... |

The replies as I made them to Tag, over MSN. Please note, this was a draft treaty, but I think O's objections are not relevant to the text in its current state... if we did ban a nation, and Europa dissaproved, they could just immediately pardon that nation (Articles IV and V), so they don't have to actually ban it. It was already understood in Q102 this was not a military alliance As for both parties needing to dissolve it, if we did become an invader region, we aren't allowed to ask Europa for help anyway, so article III actually protects Europa from any negative points in Article I and the picking up of IX instead of VIII was just petty |

O.K first, @ PC, I agree with what you have said, however Europa are well within their rights to make comments, but I do agree they seem abit harsh towards us, considering this was just a draft. Can I ask Tag if, instead of just writing comments, couldnt your senate suggest what the alterations might state? Its seems that they have a clear idea about what they want from us, so why not just lay it out on the table?? Also as far as the military thingy, I though we were now willing to offer such assistance given the fact that some of the free-port has been removed ans also these would be our allies, and the impression I was always under was that we offer support to allies, but not to say 'friendly regions' unless a exception. |
