Well, apart from ambassadors, there's only Cruz, Nev and Schotze that I can think of. This brings me to another issue. I think ambassadors that have been here a while and are active in the region (such as Tag, Parrrtay, NC and Dipes) should be allowed to vote, or at least, should be able to if they put a puppet in the region. Maybe they should have to have been forum members longer than citizens or something, to avoid us being controlled by outside agencies. I haven't thought up the exact logistics yet. And this is way off topic. Sorry! |

ok cheers nev, I just wanted to check. on another note, but related one, do you want to do the election, or are you happy for me to carry ondoing it? edited] just seen you last post JB, sorry this is one of those things me and you are going to have to agree to disagree on. I dont have anything against ambassadors, I think the world of tag etc. but I dont think that their place is in our regional choices. Lets not forget that they are members of another region, they are here to do a job and yes we do form great relationships with many of our ambassadors I dont think they should have the right to make important choices about what happens in our region. As far as the puppet thing goes if they wish to put a puppet in this region then thats a slight grey area. It would depend who they are and such. However I still dont like this idea, just because theres too much risk involved. And as nev has said its prevented in some of our legislation and I am sure it was involved in the ambassador protocol as well tbh. Sorry JB, but can I ask why you are so keen on this idea? |

Because: 1) many other regions allow it, for nations with puppets 2) we have no general public, but many active ambassadors, so they could help build a general public for voting. Point 2 is my main reason. I just felt it could work. I'm not overly bothered about it. If there were a vote or anything I'd provide the 'for' argument, but I'm not going to push it any further if no one else likes the idea. |

A puppet nation or a second nation? it all depends if they plan to play this nation, or just move it in just to vote. However I sugest that we invite comments from other about this, see what the rest of Q102 thinks ;) |

That's a very good point Zak. If we were to allow this (which I reiterate is merely a suggestion, I'm npt pushing it) then maybe a timescale would need to be included. Like they'd have to have a puppet here at least a month or something. |

see another reason JB why I was against this is because we have ahd so many nations die off lately because they were inactive and/or puppets, and tbh I think we should concentrate our efforts on recruitment and encouraging people to be active around here, then altering the constitution and such to allow ambassadors to vote. However I would REALLY like some more feedback about this from others. Even ambassadors if any are reading this |

Well, granting ambassadors more rights could encourage them to stay here as fully fledged members. As regards falling numbers, I've had an idea. I plan to track departing nations to their new regions and ask them why they left Q102. We need to know why all these people are leaving. Maybe we should have a set TG to send to these nations. |

Thats definitely an idea lots of other regions have, one of my puppets travels a lot and whenever I leave places I'm always asked why - most times though it's just cause I wanna see the world! but its worth a try, to see if there's a trend/issue we can fix re: ambassadors, i can see JB's point by saying that they're involved in the forums and such, but i think zak's right, even if ambassadors did move puppets in that doesn't mean that they'll remain active or contribute any more to the region. I can see why giving them a vote would be in some respects a good idea, but I think my vies have to rest with Zak here, we need to focus on activity rather than just changing laws which might not make a lot of difference. However, I like your ideas JB, its evident that as a government member either (possibly) in the coalition or afterwards, in your own party, you'll make a lot of good suggestions and raise a lot of good points :D |

Why thankyou Bunnies. Which reminds me! Another new idea! More directed at Nev than anyone, and I may as well post it here. How about a Coalition government signature logo? To replace the PPP and UOC ones. May create a sense of unity and be the start of the government. I directed at Nev becuase he kicks ass at this sort of thing. :D :offtopic: And how rude and provocative is Bunnies new avatar!?! :o |

There are, somewhere about, the original signatures for Councillors that make no mention of parties. I would suggest them. I would also suggest a future piece of law requiring that judges belong to no party if they are to be kept. |

I do apologise, I only liked it because it flashed different colours of pink. I'll change it
:) I also agree with Nev's proposal for the law regarding judges and government parties, as this will not only allow them to be more impartial during hearings where government members may be involved, it will also give us a bigger electorate :) |

I agree too. I like Bunnies' thinking on it, about the bigger electorate. Although, the impartiality of LD, CM nor myself ever came into question, a case was never put before us! haha! (I wasn't having a go about the avatar. I liked it!) |

Ooooook. Right. As an ambassador, I don't think it is my place to try to influence what goes on in the region politically, unless it directly harms my home region. This includes voting. Whilst I have been here longer than a fair proportion of the members, including the right honourable members that has just spoken (this is Political Affairs, after all ;) ), and joking aside, I'm really just here to observe what goes on. It wouldn't feel "right" to try to alter the political course of the region, unless it became really crazy, as I do feel a definate attachment to this region, as I have been here so long. |
