Is there any interest in those of you who have not joined one of our two political parties to form a loose alliance of concerned citizens? Perhaps we could call ourselfs the Democratic Union of Citizens. I have a pressure group idea in mind rather than a party, although that could be changed. Anyway any interest? I think one of its aims should be promoting more interaction between Council and citizens and using parliament to hold them to account. I would also like to promote foreign policy and might want to give seminars on NS general history and geo politics. |

I suppose they could, as long as they left party politics at the door. If there is interest, perhaps you could make suggestions for topics. |

I was thinking more presentation followed by question and answer than just spouting off at people! |

You could do something on the different political systems of NS, with that big funky colourful diagram, from the forum "Government Types." Not going through each one, but general overviews, types of economy etc. In the GRA they are setting up a University. It's a big thing to undertake and I don't think there'd be enough interest here what with everything else we had, but we can pinch ideas off them for your seminars. :P You could have guest speakers too! :D |
