Ok if we were elected - we believe - - Opposition parties are a great thing - in more citizen involvement in Q102 - roleplay should be more focused on creativity over stats - roleplay affects parliament and political issues = - the terrorism issue needs to be sorted - in a mature way - in a reintroduction of the Q102 defence force/RDF - fruitier recruitment is the only way to give Q102 a major rise in the ranking - in FUN! -Neutral means - -We dont openly attack any nation that we have nothing to do with -We remain impartial in disputes that dont affect us or our allies If ourselves or our allies come under attack - -We use diplomacy as far as it will go - military action is always a last resort JOIN UOC TODAY! - UOC. Where We are united, opposing and a coalition' Oh n stick this in yer signature if your serious - http://www.boomspeed.com/fatman/Coalition.jpg Lameduckodum/Peachydom/Calm Minds/Joe Bobs/Bluetiger ----- Ok guys - get stuck into this. It certainly does need amending - but I need some more input. Blast away! |

The terrorism issue for starters. I think that the larger, more experienced nations (or anyone who wants to in fact) should set up a coalition against terrorism. I don't have any ideas for exact details; I leave that open for discussion. Does this seem a reasonable suggestion? What do others think? |

Maybe Q102 should set up it's own then. We could frmalise policies. Maybe, as most of us are quite liberal, we should look at attacking the causes of terrorism rather than just resorting to war immediately. If this coalition was created, who'd be interested in joining, and does anyone have any other ideas they'd like to put forward? |

:) Sorry I was not clearer. [/admin] |

Well maybe issues that relate to RP like this should become part of the political agenda. It would make politics more interesting and may show more difference in the views of the political parties. Currently, we agree on most things. Some RP issues may be more open to debate. I don't see any harm in this becoming a political issue. This Regional Defence Force eh? What s their role? Are they of use? If not. maybe their powers should be expanded so they are of use. |

The basic reason being that not everyone who wants to RP their nation wants to RP parliament and vice versa. Your suggestion might have some merit but we as admins (not as players) would need convincing that it is better than the current arrangement or other systems. It is an admin decision about how to run the site which is why I have responed to the point as an admin rather than a player. It can of course be discussed but the correct forum would be Technical and Moderation Requests rather than an IC forum. If you want to talk about that then please do feel free to raise the issue there and I would encourage you to do so as it is an issue that has repeatedly cropped up in the last month :) [/admin] |

Well then I shall, but I'm beginning to feel a little out of my depth. If anyone else agrees that RP related issues should be a political subject that can be debated on, please lend your support. Conversely, if anyone is against this, please debate it! I will post it in the suggested forum. Thanks Nev! |

Personally I'd back RP on parliament issues and bring it into our RP. After all, terrorism doesn't exist out of RP - but everyone talks about it in RP. But since everyone doesn't want it in Q102 its gonna be hard. I back it though and if the UOC does - then we should implement it. |

Please refer here to discuss this issue: http://q102.org/index.php?showtopic=1622 (note that is a totally OOC discussion) That will save having the same discussion twice over :) Also I would point out that you can put it in your manifesto as much as you like but as stated here and elsewhere it is an OOC site administration issue and so not one available for change on the basis of an IC vote. Sorry but it has to be that way and always has been since site admin has to run the board for the benefit of the widest possible number of people as fairly as possible and not on the basis of popularity contests. That does not mean it cannot/will not happen but it does mean that this is the wrong forum and the wrong way of discussing it.[/admin] |
