Very happy to see you back. (CM, you wanna put Peachy's return in the VoP?) Well, there be a big debate over neautrality. We want to stay neutral, the PPP don't. That's the "biggie." The election may swing on that. Also the question of experience. We've never been in power, but our members are more active than theirs (except Zak and Bunnies I think) and we have three judges! There's a tabloid battle between our Voice of the People and their Voice of Democracy. I think that's about it. We also like to push them and find holes in as many of their decisions as possible. :D |

I don't so much LIKE the NA's (no to say I don't of course) as I thought it would be interesting to have an entire mordern-day country made up of them. I do however, love the NFL. lol |

Ok guys, ive read quite a few posts, and went into both the VoP and VoD. What i gathered while reading the VoD, was that there is quite a large amount of bickering which i did not expect to see. I fear that if we carry on this course, we could end up one day saying something which may not be easily forgivable. BTW, before i carry on, i must say BRAVO on the VoP. Its an excellent read. Anyway, as i continue my audit of this party, i noticed that we werent all singing from the same hymm book, if you all know what i mean. When debating, especially over neutrality, you were all speaking your own personal opinions (Which is fine), yet you where using the UOC as a carrier, which made for a slightly confusing read in which i for one did not know exactly what the UOC's official line on this was. If we are to be seen as a proper opposition party, we must be seen united behind one opinion. Ofcourse, if you state in the post that you are speaking your own feelings, this will be ok, but unless otherwise stated, dont deviate from the official line, and don't say anything that hasn't been discussed with the rest of the party. Lamedud (Sorry to single you out mate, but ur the example that sticks) You took a rather personal line on the neutrality, and well, accused a few members of the PPP of just jumping on the band wagon, which later on caused a slight amount of upset, and which the other members of the UOC, did not agree with. Its quite a hard thing to explain really, its politics after all. But we need to stand shoulder to shoulder, and provide a united front, what i see happening this now, is individual, personal, bickering. Yes, some of it may be fun, and im all for it, but other things arent, and this party could get a bad name. Now. The banner. As I've studied both Product Design and Psychology, i understand a bit about what people find appealing and what not. The banners cool, but, i think we need to consider the use of the Red. Reds a very emotive colour, and one that can inspire negative feelings and emotions. If we have a look at a PPP banner, its a very Neutral *cough* colour, and as such, may not be as memorable, but at the same time, wont look as agressive. So, we need to discuss the colour there, we still want a memorable one, but maybe just not as emotive. EM, I think thats it this now. I feel really bad for just coming back and saying this, but it needed to be said, and im not one to beat about the bush. Hopefully ive not insulted anybody. But we gotta kick some political butt....in a political way! |

I agree Peachy. We do need to be more organised. I think that's the only area where the PPP trump us. I don't know about the banner though. I like the red. Also, most Q102ers are pretty lefty, many ex-Commies, and I think red is pretty popular. I'm looking forward to the election when I plan to be rhetorical as hell. I figure we can win the election, if we get organised first. Maybe we should all buy suits. I for one, on election night, am going to sit in a suit by the computer with a glass of wine and wait for the phone call from Paxman (or Nev). :D |

YES! Peachy IS back. Well done sir, some excellent points there. In some respects, I set up and maintained the party on the basis that you would be back at some point to save the day. I certainly did not study design, but the banner could be easily improved - for a start we don't really have a logo. As for red - well... uh.. I certainly wouldn't class myself as a communist, most definetly left wing, but red does show passion and strength. I am also glad I didn't call the party United Opposition - only the name of Trotskys opposition party to Stalin - that would of definetly detracted any commie bashers. I'm not a big fan of trotsky either - he was a bit blind if you ask me. ANYWAYS! LEADERSHIP!!! I think its time we came to a decision. I would be willing to stay on as leader, but I know the Peachy would also make an excellent leader - if he wanted too. I think at the election we tossed a coin to see who would be leader - and I took it on by default because Peachy did a disappearing act. But I hereby open up the leadership race to anyone. Lets say any candidates say yay or nay by wednesday, and we'll vote, the new leader (or me) will take on (or continue) leadership at the weekend! This is pretty important, as it shows our democratic and mature side. CANDIDATES Lamedud ?!?? |

Lol. Well, i would like another go with leadership, but i think this time around, i'd quite like to be the party whip! So, joe bobs mentioned some shadow cabinet positions, il go back and look, i'l take one of those, and if nobody minds, i'l sit back and start whipping!! Oh...um....NAY to the leadership, but i urge others to say 'YAY' to it. EDIT: Rite, i had a look at available positions. I would like security? But if BT has (or would like) that position, thats kl, i would take immigration instead? Hopefully this is kl! ~~pArTy WhIp~~ |

So, just to clarify, we now have a leadership race on? I'll run! And did you say you're not, Peachy? I just thought I'd ask for clarification. |
