opposition could be fun. however don't take opposition too literally. Maybe our Party idea should be similair to U.S congress (i may be wrong but this is my understanding) where you can vote against your party if your personal view comes into your decision on how to vote. Your not really restricted to voting the way your party is voting and your party should not criticize you just for voting against them.

Tis a good point. Look at labour backbenchers. Alot of em hate tony blair and vote against him, but theyre still labour. Yeh nev, that political affairs thing sounds good with the implemented RP.

I thin opposition parties sound great! add some spirit and life back into government in my opinion. I think all should feel they can express their opinion no matter what that may be. Done forget just as your in a opposition party doesnt mean that party's members must agree on everything, nor does one person talk for them all. The idea is for them to share a common ideology.

I think its a great idea and a way to boost activity in parliament. I see nev has already created a new sub-forum for it, so all I hope is that you can maintain your end of the bargin and actually be the opposition who holds the government to account. Afterall we need more activity and interest around here if you ask me, and this is one way to hopefully achieve this ;)

Go for it!

[OOC]I have been commenting partly IC and partly OOC in threads here and we all seem to be drawing different lines as to where that IC/OOC line is in Parliament now.

If other people make an IC comment such as "don't sell out to the government" then it is natural that I will make an IC plea for unity? I know they don't mean they will work against the region but if I as Delegate and head of the government ought to challenge them on that. We are moving into a different area with this now as it is properly becoming what it always has been, a form of roleplay. We need to adjust and get used to that and if Parties are the way it is going it is going to seem more adversarial at times. As long as people are polite that will work fine.

I am going to suggest that from now on we assume all posts in Parliament are In Character and that if you want to talk Out of Character you will begin, as I have here, with an [OOC] tag.
