Alright this is something i started a while back to amuse myself. I can't claim that i know much about climate besides that it is too cold in the north!
:P Any metrologist will probably fall of his chair from laughing about this
:D Question is, do you want a map like this? If so how can i improve it? Any input would be most welcome. (Especially about the glaring errors i probably made ) In case you like the idea we could thing about making resource maps and whatnot, too. Edit: outdated image removed. Current version is here. |

That is actually pretty neat. The biggest problem I see is that Rhino Island is the nature preserve, and it is so damn cold! |

I think all the cold areas should be warmer! (of course, I'm biased, as I'm stuck in the middle of 'cold') I'd like to think Picklelalia has weather much like the southern part of BC - maritime/mixed humid :D |

Warming up the northern territories would be no problem at all. However, i thought we should keep a cold area for nations ,who like it this way (like Borealium). That was the main reason why i hesitated to suggest it in the first place, by the way. I knew there would be quarrel about the temperatues ;) Any ideas on how to tackle this? Maybe leave the northern part of the main island cold and warm up the Isle of Sapphry? |

Maybe if North was the upper right corner, instead of just straight up? |

Give her a warm ocean current running up from the south. That would make her souther coast much more moderate. |

Does maritime mean that we don't get much sun and heat at our beaches in the summer? |

I have no idea, i just took the names from a webpage
^_^ As martine is green, i think it is a good climate. You probably have temperate weather without freezing cold winters and boiling hot summers. It should still be warm enough to sunbathe, though! :D |

Yes, I believe I can be appeased with a warm current
B) My people like to ski and sunbathe all in the same day so - warm beaches, cool mountains - and the current does that just fine |

Hmmm....if i could find where abouts peachydom is i'd be able to comment. I think its the grey area? Edit: Just seen the now. Um...nope. I'm Number one in Q102 for best all year round weather....and it seems to be rather cold where im placed. Edit: If you could maybe just decrease the size of the 'Cold Ring' and bring it a bit more to the north, then the nortern half would be colder, but the bottom part would be warmer. |

There's lots of different flavors of "cold" and "warm" climates. Which direction the prevailing winds go, and the nature of the ocean currents in the local water - or whether there are any local bodies of water to begin with - are all important determining factor. Picklealia and Rhino Island may be north of Borealium but are probably have milder winters on average due to having more of a maritime influence. Note that Rome and NYC are at about the same latitude but NYC is usually much colder in the winter than Rome is. |
