Name: Balder. When he has to visit the Material world he uses the name Brady O'Dynson. Birth Date: Balder's birthdate has no correlation to modern dates. He was returned from the realm of the dead on October 12, 2009. Physical Description: Balder is tall and majestic. He is fair-skinned with blond hair and piercing blue eyes. His face is clean shaven, and his features completely symmetrical and breathtakingly beautiful. Balder stands at 6'2", weighing 220 pound with a finely chiseled physique. Balder's body has no scars or blemishes save or a small, round scar in his chest directly over his heart, about the diameter of a pencil, the only reminder of the wound that killed him. When dressed for battle, Balder wears a suit of plate mail, polished to a mirror sheen and inlaid with golden ivy. The mail is lined with leather dyed a regal purple, and a tabard and cape of the same color are draped over the armor. Balder wears a massive broadsword at his side, but it is almost never used and only for show. Job: God of War and Diplomacy Equipment: Balder uses no equipment except for his ceremonial armor and sword. Powers: Balder possesses a silver tongue, a persuasive talent that surpasses any save for the serpent of Eden. Where Galahad's abilities stem from a natural authority, Balder's persuasion stems simply from a supernatural effect that makes those who can hear and/or see him feel like his friend and want to do what he suggests. This power affects all creatures, and willpower alone is any defense against it. -Balder's persuasion is so powerful that reasonable requests can only be ignored by extremely powerful wills. What is reasonable is up to the being in question. -Balder's persuasion is so powerful that if he focuses his attention on a single being he can issue short, simple commands and they are instantly followed without thought. Those with sufficient will can shrug off the compulsion if they are prepared for it. *Balder possesses great strength, which allows him a great deal of damage resistance and speed beyond what the average mortal is capable of. Balder is able to lift 20 tons over his head, withstand a grenade blast, and run at speeds of over 40 mph for great distances. -Balder can withstand a tank shell without harm -Balder can withstand a tactical missile strike without harm -Balder can survive a fall from several miles up without harm -Balder can lift 40 tons over his head -Balder can survive a fall from orbit without harm -Balder can lift 60 tons over his head -Balder can lift 80 tons over his head -Balder can lift 100 tons over his head -Balder can survive the blast of a nuclear warhead without harm so long as he was not on ground zero. *Balder has godlike physiology and is immortal for all intents and purposes. Anything that does not kill him outright, he will recover from eventually. He can regenerate severed limbs, but unless the healing is augmented it would take years to regrow an arm or leg because of the healing rate. -Balder heals ten times faster than a normal human. -Balder, because of his immortal physiology, is immune to all natural poisons and diseases and is immune to the effects of radiation. Magical poisons and diseases can still affect him, but he will eventually recover. Skills: Silver Tongue~ Even when not utilizing his natural powers, Balder is very persuasive. Tactical Genius~ Balder, for all he likes to avoid combat, is unbeatable in the field of tactics. Judge Opponent~ Balder can size up an opponent's abilities, strengths, and weaknesses in the first few seconds of combat. Crippling Blow~ Balder knows how to hit an opponent to cause the most amount of pain with the least amount of damage. Cool Head~ Balder is always cool and collected, and cannot be taunted into making mistakes. Keen Eye~ Though Balder's senses aren't any sharper than a normal human's, he knows how to filter out sounds and distinguish shapes to give him a greater use of those senses. Personality: Balder is a peaceful, kind person. He abhors fighting and will go to great lengths to avoid it. However, he will not hold back if he has no other options. He will not stand idly by while people are being oppressed, nor will he stand for abuses of power by those in power. Past: Balder's story is well known. He died as a result of Loki's trickery long before the Asgardians left this world, and spent the millennia in the realm of the dead, at peace. Recently however, Loki's visions of the future led him to believe Balder would be needed. Loki convinced hel to travel to the realm of the dead and bring Balder back to life. Though Balder was reluctant, when Hel explained the situation to him he agreed to return and help the Asgardians in their struggle. Because of his unique situation he is the only Asgardian who does not need a human host, but he is far from his former strength as of yet. |
