Name: Nocturne, Noc, Silent Echo Birth Date: 1983, June 3 Physical Description: The best way to describe Noc is a giant bat. His arms are structured as bat’s wings, those they have proven much stronger and more flexible by comparison to a regular bat’s. His feet also have a more flexible design which allows him to grip. His body is a brown coloration of fur and skin, his wings have a leather like appearance due to the skin membrane between them. His face also has bat like qualities to it, large ears, sharp teeth, and a non-existent nose, though it is much more humanoid then it’s previous manifestation. A mane of brown hair frames his face. His eyes seem solid black, but his black irises are still visible upon closer examination, a slightly brighter hue. He wears a black shirt with no sleeves, form fitted for his wings, and black shorts also designed with his physiology in mind. He wears shades during the day. He is capable of shifting his wings into more manageable hands. In this shape a thin wing membrane is between his fingers and run the length of his arms. He is slender, but very muscular. Job: Silver Shield/Black ops Equipment: A ‘utility belt’ with a bit of gear in it: Grapple gun, lines and attachments, a remote signal explosive gel applicator and cartridges for blowing out walls, sonic emitters, oxygen mask. Powers: Noc’s most obvious abilities are self propelled flight and increased acrobatic ability due to his unique physiology. Unlike his previous manifestation, Noc is capable of shifting his wing back and forth at a moments notice into hands/arms, though the skin membrane is still present, allowing him to glide in this form. His top flight speed is around 100 mph under optimal conditions. He has full maneuverability while in flight. He is strong enough to carry about 3 times his bodyweight (around 500 pounds) while in flight, though not for long if maxed out. He is able to cling to walls and ceilings with little difficulty and can hang upside-down for long periods without becoming disoriented. His eyes are more sensitive to light then a normal persons. *Noc’s hearing is extraordinary; he has a full spectrum hearing range into sound frequencies. His brain is designed to unconsciously filter excess noise, allowing him to consciously ‘tune’ into specific sounds without being overwhelmed or damaging his hearing. The range of his hearing is also quite extraordinary; he is able to hear to a range of .5 mile if he concentrates. Anything he hears, he remembers, allowing him to learn a language rather quickly by listening to it (still requires learning what the meaning of words are). -Noc can hear and differentiate the noise given off by telecommunication transmissions. -Noc can hear and differentiate the noise given off by light frequencies. -Noc can hear and differentiate the noise of various energy signatures. -Can hear at a range of 1 mile. *Noc’s vocal abilities allow him to emit a full range of sound. He can imitate any sound he hears, and project his voice so that it sound like it comes from a different location. -Noc can emit sonic frequencies that disorient, confuse and/or unbalance opponents. -Noc can emit sonic frequencies that can shatter objects with the hardness equal or less then rock. -Noc can emit sonic frequencies that can shatter objects with the hardness equal or less then steel. -Noc can emit sound frequencies that selectively target certain matter, thus he could emit a frequency that could shatter steel while leaving flesh and bone untouched. *Noc, much like a bat, has sound-based radar. His is far more advanced, due in part to the range of sound he is capable of hearing. Not only does his radar map solid objects, but penetrates objects via ultrasound, allowing him ‘x-ray hearing’. He is quite literally living surveillance equipment and very little gets by his notice. This extends to his hearing range. Skills: High Frequency language: Noc has learned to decipher telecomunication signals into understandable language, allowing him to listen in on transmission without the use of radio equipment. Black ops training: Combat, stealth, espionage. Ninja on crack. Former Thief: Knowledge of all the little tricks of the trade too ‘illegal’ for the law to use. Languages: Versed in French, Arabic, German, Chinese and Japanese, currently studying Spanish. Personality: The years in black ops have matured Noc a bit, while still enjoying challenges, he has developed a more ruthless streak that unsettles his opponents, a darker side suited to extracting information and doing what it takes to get the job done. Still, he does have a code of ethics, he won’t kill anyone if he can help it Past: Noc was once a thief in Silver City, stealing from criminals for the challenge. He had originally been without powers, but abused a power inducing drug that almost killed him if not for his actual protogene kicking in, although it was damaged by his drug abuse. When the crash hit, his mutations disappeared, reverting him back to a human, which also resulted in his capture, where he was brought in to stand trial for his crimes. However, due to his experience, he was given an offer while in jail, for missions deemed too questionable for the public to know about. The challenge intrigued him, and he agreed, ending a part of a black ops program. He was trained for the three years while heroes were depowered. When the reboot hit, Noc was surprised as anyone to find himself once again endowed with powers. However, this manifestation was different from the drug damaged version. Less animalistic, he had more control over his abilities, fine tuned. With his new abilities in place, and a bit more training, Noc became a solo infiltrator and spy, unmatched due to his superior radar. Combined with the latest ‘toys’, Noc was a force to be reckoned with. It is only recently that Noc was assigned back into Silver City to help handle some of the newer threats, however, Noc has also taken to activities outside of Silver Shields knowledge, though exactly what remains to be seen… |
