Several days passed since the first encounter with the Craetos monster. Icarus's message was clear. He wanted to speak with everyone involved. Kyle's task was clear. He was to bring them all in. It was imperative.

Messages were sent out by Kyle to the three individuals involved. Everyone arrived. Kyle was sitting with his legs hanging over the edge of a table in a large, wide room resembling a lab crossed with an auto repair garage. He toyed with his guns, checking and rechecking them out of habit. The three were all inside and ready.

From out of a side door to their left, a young woman, covered from head to toe in tactical gear, walked out next to Kyle and crossed her arms. From somewhere beyond the confines of the room, cursing and screaming was heard, followed soon after by loud explosions. A sliding door on the opposite side of the room made a "whoosh" sound and out stepped a man in an armoed suit, covered from head to toe. The voice sounded as if it were muffled and spoken through a distortion device.

"My apologies for this clandestine meeting. But secrecy is paramount. The Proteon Corporation has its eyes, ears, and arms everywhere. As much as I would like for all of you to not be involved, the episode of a few days past has changed that. First, let me introduce my group. You all have met Kyle Renquist, my field agent. The young lady here is Robin Lecroix, the daughter of an old French family, descended from the line of the figure you know as Robin Hood. She is my weapons-master. She can use any weapon with masterful skill."

The left-side door exploded outward into the room. A man wearing a tattered trench coat and thick work apron was blown out, sliding on his back and skidding to a stop in the middle of the room. The man stood, his left eye covered by an eyepatch and his hair looking like it had been blown back by an explosion, giving him the appearance of a modern-day pirate.

"Damn power couplings! I'll show you an explosion!" The man got back up, gave the group a quick glance and stalked back through the shattered remnants of the doorway, oblivious to the small fires covering his apron and hair.

"That man," the armored man spoke, " was Sledge, my tech expert."

"I am Icarus. Though that is not my real name but the name of my armor. ICARUS - Integrated Cybernetic And Robotic Uniform System. I have asked you all here to tell you that we are all apart of the same game now. I have been at war with the Proteon Corporation for the past fifteen years. I was...a former employee of the company until I discovered their true intentions and how I was helping. I took what I could and went underground to do what I cold to disable the Corporation's actions, currently which you were all privy to witnessing first-hand."

Icarus clicked a button on his wrist and a large, two-dimensional image popped up in the air, like a computer screen floating. An image of the monster they battled popped up.

"This is the Craetos monster. According to files stolen from a Proteon lab by Kyle, this is a first generation experiment in a level of genetic engineering I have never encountered before. This first one was but a test run. A trial to see how it would operate in combat conditions. Which means there will be more of them. Stronger, faster, more powerful. While I will not assume a level of comradery among us that is not there, I instead offer something else. A partnership, a network of assistance available to you all. The Proteon Corporation has unlimited resources and its leader, Jedis, is a ruthless man who lacks a soul. You must all be vigilant in your actions from this point on. I wish you all luck in your endeavors. Merely put out the word that you require help and it will be sent to you in the form of information, finances, weapons, ecetera. Kyle will show you the way out now. Good luck to you all, my friends."

Icarus nodded to them all and left the room, Robin in tow. Kyle looked at the three.

"Yeah, that's about the just of it, you guys. I'll be around if you need anything."

Kyle watched the three leave. He crossed his arms over his chest and sighed, wondering where all of this would lead them. A war? Yeah, that was always fun.
