Name: Splortch Birth Date: The Chugga of Fandango, in the 82nd revolution of his planet(s) around its (their) star. Splortch really doesn't know how to translate that into Earth's time measurements, but he's in mid-adolescence by his species' reckoning. Physical Description: Splortch's natural form is a more or less shapeless blob of blue transluscent goo tat weighs more or less around 200 pounds. Although he can assume almost any form, out of convenience when dealing with humans he assumes an androgynous humanoid form about 5'6" tall of the same color blue, but slightly more opaque so as to not gross people out when he eats; even so, he rarely uses his legs to walk and instead 'flows' across the ground to move, and his body has the consistency of Jello. In this shape Splortch has two arms and legs, each with three digits, but other than a mouth and three eyes he has no facial features. He claims that binocular vision is weird and refuses to have less than three eyes in any form he takes. Splortch doesn't ever wear clothes, but being that he is an asexual being there really isn't any point in him doing so. Job: SSTC Member and general Mooch. Equipment: None Powers: Molecular malleability. Splortch's people evolved on what is possibly the most hostile ecosystem in the universe, and as such are little more than humongous protobacteria. Splortch can change his size and density to a degree of 100% above normal and 75% below normal. Splortch can assume the shape and colors of anything he has seen or can imagine, although he can only replicate them to scale in the case of buildings and large structures. He can also adapt to survive in any environment indefinitely, save only for space but that's because he hasn't worked out the trick that will let him survive more than an hour or two. Regardless of the shape he takes and the density he assumes, he is always able to move himself and fight; this means that when he becomes larger and denser he gains the proportionate strength of the new form. He normal strength is slightly above the average for a grown human male. Splortch can digest anything, and I do mean anything. Lets just say the Silver Shield doesn't produce as much garbage as it used to. Growing up in a lethal environment makes you ready for action 24/7. Splortch doesn't need to sleep; the only rest he seems to need under a normal workload for a superhero works out to be 10 hours every three days, during which time he does little more than eat and move around between his quarters and the break room. Splortch's species do not have pain receptors, though they are aware of all damage done to them; pain would be a hindrance on his homeworld. -Splortch can increase his size and density by 150% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 200% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 250% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 300% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 350% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 400% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 450% -Splortch can increase his size and density by 500% -Splortch can decrease his size and density by 90%, allowing him to squeeze through the holes in a cheese grater or through an opening as thin as a sheet of paper. *Reconstitution. Splortch, like all but the youngest and oldest of his species, can rebuild himself so long as at least 1% of his original body mass survives an attack. It takes several months for him to regrow his entire mass if reduced that far however. -If pieces of Splortch are severed, they flow back into the main body so long as they are not physically prevented from doing so. If prevented from flowing back into Splortch's main body, the pieces become inert after several minutes and die after an hour. *Technological replication. Splotch can use his shapechanging abilities to replicate technological devices, such as computers, cell phones, and even lasers. He can make his arm into a firearm, but unless he has ammunition from an outside source he has to use bits of himself for the bullets. The energy to power such devices comes from Splortch's own physical reserves; when he gets tired, the equipment in question loses power. Splortch has to know how something works and have a general knowledge of its parts in order to replicate it. Skills: Master of Legos and Erector Sets~ Splortch loves putting things together, as well as taking things apart just to put them back together. Currently he's not allowed within 50 feet of Tobor. Cultural Adoption~ Splortch has had no problems adapting to Earth's culture despite his short time on the planet. Mindless~ Splortch's thought patterns are so strange that telepaths can't read anything but the strongest thoughts and emotions on his mind. Personality: You wouldn't know that Splortch came from one of the most lethal places in the universe by talking to him. He's happy go lucky and generally unafraid of anything because he simply doesn't believe there's much on Earth that can compare to the nastiness of his people's homeworld(s). He's very friendly and takes to Earth culture like a duck to water, especially loving television and all the wonderful foods Earth people create. He's amazed that they just leave the best stuff lying around in places called landfills, but he figures that it must be some cultural thing he just doesn't understand yet. Past: Splortch's people (simply called the 'Goo's by the Silver Shield) come from a unique world so far away from Earth that the light from their star hasn't reached Earth's skies yet and will likely die billions of years before such a thing happens. The world is unique in that it is composed of three equally sized moons locked in orbit around a super-dense planetoid that is less than a third of the size of any one moon. The 'moons' revolve around the planetoid, which revolves around the system's star, and the planetoid has a bizarre elliptical orbit that sometimes carries it close to the star and at others to the outer reaches of the star's gravitational pull. His people developed starflight after the Shegath invaded one of the moons. The moon's environment was too hostile even for the Shegath to bother keeping after the initial wave, but Splortch's people studied the crashed starships and were able to use their own bodies to copy the shape and function. Splortch was separated from his people when they were taking exploratory jumps through wormholes; he was taken outside the 'ship' to practice his ability to survive in space (so he could join the rotation of those currently making up the hull) when a stray comet knocked him into a smaller wormhole that had just opened up and was sucked in to just shy of Earth's moon. Catching a ride on a small meteor Splortch made his way to Earth, hoping that the radio signals being given off there meant he would have a chance to get back to his people. His meteor landed in the middle of a cornfield outside of Silver City, where he was found by Mr. Mercury and led to the Silver Shield. Though Splortch knows they won't be able to get him home any time soon, he's satisfied with the treatment he's received and enjoys the company of the SSTC. Edited by Batguy, Mar 28 2009, 09:22 AM.

For the most part I don't see any problems though most of his skills (ref:Superior Digestion, Boundless Endurance and No Pain) seem more like just racial abilities which go in the powers section and don't count against your upgrade count provided you don't increase them beyond the norm. Which also brings up the fact that I would prefer you send me a briefing of his species so that it can be posted before he is approved. |
