Name: Thomas 'Tommy' Furcotti Birth Date: September 8th, 1982 Physical Description: Thomas is thin with very pronounced facial features, looking very bony. His hair is dark and curly, and his eyes are black. His limbs are thin with atrophied muscles, his legs more so than his arms. He manages to be nicely dressed, for what it's worth, but one can only look but so classy when one is confined to a wheelchair. Thomas is paralyzed from just under the shoulders downwards, allowing him to operate his wheelchair and feed himself if someone cuts his meat for him but leaving him without the strength or manual dexterity to operate doorknobs or other things most people take for granted. 'Tommy' on the other hand, is 6' tall and 200 pounds, looking exactly like Thomas would if Thomas was fully functional in a physical sense and was a top athlete. Job: Author. Thomas uses voice-recognition software to write a series of cheap sci-fi novels to supplement the federal disability payments he receives. On occasion he does lectures for the History and English departments at the nearby colleges, and he does some on and off editing work for a few low-key literary magazines. Equipment: Wheelchair. Thomas' chair is fitted with some heavy duty wheels and suspension to allow it to traverse the usually broken landscape of Silver City. Normally that would have cost him thousands of dollars, but Medicaid covered it thanks to where he lived. Powers: Thomas is super intelligent, having roughly an IQ of 500. The exact value is unknown because he starts to correct the questions on most tests and then loses his patience and quits. *Thomas also possesses an alternate form. Thus we get to 'Tommy'. Tommy is super strong and durable, though this stems from a strange form of personal telekinesis rather than actual physical ability. Tommy subconsciously uses telekinesis to augment his physical strength and has a skin-tight force field that keeps him safe from harm. Tommy can effectively life thirty tons and withstand a tank shell without harm. However, where Thomas is incredibly intelligent, Tommy has the mind and mentality of a 6-year old child. Thomas can direct Tommy' actions to a point, but usually all he can do is point Tommy at something and let him go. -Tommy can lift 45 tons -Tommy can take an anti-tank shell without harm -Tommy can lift 60 tons -Tommy can take a missile strike without harm -Tommy can lift 75 tons *Tommy also possesses the ability to convert damage into extra strength. When Tommy takes enough damage to actually get hurt from an attack, he gains a 5% increase in power to his strength and his force field. These increases are cumulative and feed off his base strength, not the current level when he takes the damage. Effectively, the more damage he takes the harder it is to hurt him and the stronger he gets. The increases last as long as endorphins and adrenaline are flowing through Tommy's system, so he won't suddenly have a power failure in a fight, but once he calms down the bonuses disappear and his powers are reduced to 75% of their base because of fatigue to his mind and body. The reductions are cumulative as well should he get into a fight again before having a chance to properly rest, but the reductions feed off of the last base level rather than his normal baseline. -Tommy's powers increase by 6% -Tommy's powers increase by 7% -Tommy's powers increase by 8% -Tommy's powers increase by 9% -Tommy's powers increase by 10% Skills: Linguist~ Thomas speaks Spanish, French, Latin, Italian, and Greek as well as English. Diplomat~ Thomas is very good at getting people to work together; he's had the best practice with trying to make Tommy do what he wants. Intuition~ Tommy may not be bright, but tends to make odd mental connections that Thomas has to take time to think through. Personality: Thomas and Tommy are effectively two separate people, almost like twins that share the same body. Thomas is a dark and cynical person with a dry sense of humor and a taste for sarcasm. Tommy likes transforming toys, coloring books, and Funyuns, and is generally bright and happy in demeanor. Past: Thomas has always suffered from a nerve disorder that as a child left him barely able to walk around the house and only steadily got worse as he grew. It stabilized in his teens but by that time he was confined to a wheelchair and needed a full-time caregiver. Fortunately for Thomas, he was exceptionally intelligent and was able to get an equivalency diploma before he was 14 and had earned degrees in US History and English by the time he was 20. Books were his only friend growing up, and he often had conversations with himself, conversations he would often write down as an exercise titled "Thomas and Tommy". He got some acclaim for them on small humor forums, and it inspired him to write novels. Thomas had published the first five books of his series by the time the Crash hit. During that time he was restless and had difficulty writing. He didn't realize that much of his intelligence was taken from him in the Crash, and to try and deal with his problems he took a sabbatical from writing and lecturing. When the Reboot happened Thomas was trying his old exercise of talking to 'Tommy', and was surprised to find Tommy talking back. At first Thomas thought he may be going insane, but as his intelligence returned Thomas came to believe Tommy was somehow a fraction of his own psyche that had manifested, perhaps as his Protogene was being awakened by the Reboot. This was confirmed the first time he transformed, and Thomas found himself taking a back seat to Tommy as the other personality got up out of the wheelchair and began doodling on the wall with a marker Thomas' caregiver had left on the table. Thomas and Tommy have a strange relationship; both realize that they are technically one person, but it doesn't seem to bother either one. Thomas would much rather just continue his life and learn how to merge the two personalities (mostly so he could have a functional body), but Tommy has decided he wants to be a superhero after watching news footage of Sentinel fighting the Golden Guardian. Ok. I'm going to give Daioni a chance to voice any complaints he has and then approve him. You have until the end of the day Daioni. |
