Name: William Orascuro Birth Date: March 14 1979. Physical Description: Technically, William has no real appearance, as he is a vaguely humanoid mass of astral energy, invisible and immaterial to the world. However, when he manifests he does take on an appearance approximately close to what he looked like, though in tones of white and gray. His hair is medium long, flowing as if in a breeze or underwater and seems to blur and flow off at times. His clothing appears as a trench coat and pants, through the same flowing effect seems to apply to them, his build is slender but average. In life, Will had blond hair, blue eyes and tan skin. Job: Ghost, Hero of Horror Equipment: N/A, incapable of carrying any. Powers: Will is for all intensive purposes, dead. He is little more then a spirit immaterial to the world, as such he is unaffected by most things that effect people, such a heat, cold, oxygen, etc... Of course this has the drawback of making it impossible for him to affect anything himself or even be heard, at least not in the normal manner. He is normally invisible, a vaguely humanoid mass of astral energy to those who can see it. He can fly freely and pass through solid objects in this form. In this state, he can move much faster via astral flow at about 300 mph. However, in this form he cannot be heard, cannot touch, taste, or smell. He does posses a sort of astral sense towards the living, able to see the living aura that people give off. This aura is unique to each person and he can home in on the general direction of that person as long as he has been in their presence before. This also allows him to identify non-human entities by their different aura or lack there-of. -He is able to materialize himself by condensing his energy until it becomes visible. In this form, he can speak and be seen, but is still immaterial and cannot interact physically with the world. His speed is slowed in this form to about 60 mph. -Will can manifest enough of a physical presence to interact with the world, this is only a minor physical presence, and is not powerful enough to hold in a fight, but is more suited for mundane tasks. He can lift things as a normal person could. *Possession: Will is able to possess things, people, objects, etc, mingling his energy with that of the thing in question to gain control over it, with objects and plants it is a simple matter as there is no mind to conflict with, he can quite easily possess it, however anything with emotion and thought, such as animals and people, must first be in a highly agitated state, either scared or worked up, in order for him to possess them. This usually requires him to scare the person a bit before he is able to possess them. When possessing an object, will can move any of its moving parts and manipulate anything contained in it. Thus if he possessed a set of drawers, he could toss the contents out of it, open the drawers, or in electronics manipulate the flow of current, causing bulbs to blow or changing the channels on a TV. This control extends to setting off chemical reactions that an object is capable of, such as a bullet or grenade. If the item he is possessing is destroyed or significantly damaged, he is automatically ejected from it. When possessing people, he gains access to recent memories within the last 24 hours. He can control the persons body, but does not gain their experiences or specialized knowledge, thus if he possessed a hero with powers, he would not gain any the experience needed to wield that power, and would have to learn how to use it himself. He does gain any natural abilities of his host, such as strength, agility, speed, etc, though not any knowledge. If the host is killed or knocked unconscious, he is automatically ejected. *Haunting: As a ghost, Will very presense is paranormal, causing many of the taletell signs of spectral activity. EVP, orbs, cold spots, warped photos, etc, are common when he is in the area. He can voluntarily induce these things if he wishes, but cannot shut them off completely. In addition, he can 'haunt' the area he is in. Basically this induces changes in the environment he is in, generally in a scary manner. This includes the appearance of blood or strange fluids, causing markings or writing to appear, creating sounds and noises, temperature alterations, and the generation of that 'creepy feeling' that runs up someones spine. He can also induce hallicinations of the senses, though they are limited. He could not for instance create a hallucination of another place or plane of existance, nor a vast endless army of undead. It is generally limited to smaller hallucination that starts off normal, then turns unsettling, the decomposing face in the mirror, the sudden rancid smell of decomposing flesh, the cold dead hand that drops on the shoulder, the sudden attack of something creepy only to snap out of it moments later with everything normal again. That's generally how they work. They are relativly short, a couple of minutes maybe, never prolonged. He needs to be in the presense of those he is affecting. Of course these hallucinations cause no actual harm, it is all mental warfare. These are not illusions, anyone not included in them cannot see them. Skills: Intelligent: Reads a lot of books. You tend to pick up things. Deviant: Can be quite imaginative when it comes to scaring people. Have to have a hobby you know. Personality: Will is for all intensive purposes dead. That peeves him off a little as there are a lot of things he cannot do anymore, and people generally tend to freak out when he shows himself. As such he has had to find new ways of entertaining himself, and will haunt people just for the fun of it. He likes reading, as the only thing he can really exercise these days is his mind. He is not the type to make friends easily, the whole ghost thing usually puts people off. Besides this he is typically a nice guy if you don’t catch him in a bad mood. Past: For the most part, Will was a normal guy for most of this life. He had a family and two kids. He was a member of Silver Shield, though on the more technical side, research and development. The crash had lost him that job between which he had become a librarian until the reboot enabled him to rejoin. The team that Will was a part of was researching the possibility of astral projection. The experiments went well, as they developed a machine that could temporarily separate a persons mind, or spirit from its body, Will had volunteered as the primary test subject, and had projected a number of times with no side effects. However, during one of the sessions, there was a power surge on the grid, and the machine received far more power then was originally intended. Will’s body disappeared. In the weeks to come there was still no sign of Will’s body, or any sign he was still alive. A search was made, but nothing was ever found and he was finally declared dead. His family held a funeral with no body. In was some time later that Will’s family began experiencing strange things going on in their home, things would move on their own, there would be strange sounds. The symptoms were so like a haunting that they had a paranormal investigation to confirm it. The incident that occurred during this frightened them so much that they decided to move out, especially with the stains now covering the walls. Will of course was still there, though a ghost in every aspect of the word. He was acting out on people to vent his frustration of the situation, as no one could see or hear him. Even seeing his family had been torture as he couldn’t interact with them directly, and they thought he was dead. He was of course but it still hurt. He decided he had to let them get on with their lives, so did not follow when they moved away, instead opting to explore the city and find out what exactly he could do, slowly uncovering some of his abilities as a ghost. He would haunt people, which seemed to be all he could do in a world he could not touch. It was not until he haunted a specific antique shop that his un-life took on some new meaning… Edited by daioni, Feb 12 2009, 08:41 PM.

I have small issues with the Haunting ability. I don't like pyrokinesis lumped in there, even if all he's doing is starting the fires. I also have a problem with him having the ability to throw things around when he has trouble with physical interaction. If you want him to have the ability to 'mentally' throw things around you need to give him telekinesis as a separate ability. Otherwise that facet of the ability is redundant as he can already manipulate objects by possessing them. The hallucinations I'm fine with so long as you put some limits on them. Yes, it's documented that some hauntings have caused hallucinations and 'visions', but those are rare; there's got to be some kind of downside, like the more complex the easier it is for someone to see through it or it's really hard for him to maintain them, or preferably that physically interacting with the images he creates causes them to fail. Th Linguist skill needs to have specifics listed. I know he's a ghost and doesn't have anything better to do with his free time, but there are too many languages and dialects in the world for you not to specify. |

He should be considerably older as well. He wouldn't even be twenty one at this point and he wouldn't have gotten the job you say he had nor should he have had the family that he does unless he got married and had kids at a very young age, which really would have ruined him financially and he wouldn't have been able to afford the college needed to get the job in the first place. |

Okay, edited the age, and reworte hauntings t lose the spontaneous combustion and tone down hallucinations. They are basically meant to be those short scares like you see in movies, they are not ellaborate illusions, more like a short scenereo designed to shock and scare quickly rather then decieve for any prolonged period of time. |
