Garrett exhaled, still a little amused by how the cold air made his breath fog, keep a bit of the childhood wonder and you'll never go wrong his father had told him, so he tries his hardest to keep that going. He stands on the rooftop of a large department store, a Door Shop or something like that. One of the larger chains. He looked up and down the street, there were a few more stores, mostly chains, there was a bank on the corner a few buildings down. Still no sign of the others though. "Time to meet up" he said into his communicator, receiving confirmation from the other members of the SSTC. He was a little annoyed that Spider and Twitch weren't there but Spider had gotten the flu and Twitch was caught up in a visit to his great great great great great grandparents estate in Texas. Garret was only waiting for a few minutes before Giant landed on the roof, shaking it slightly but not doing any damage, helping Galahad off of his shoulder. A roar of engines told him that Savant was there, she landed far more ceremoniously than Giant, having more dignity than the Jolly Green Giant. "Well this was exciting" Savant said taking her helmet off. "I get more fights in my home neighborhood" Giant said with a grin. "Wasn't the point that it wasn't exciting? Shouldn't we be happy for that?" Galahad asked. |

With a happy bark, Zoo announced his arrival as he padded lightly across the rooftops towards the others as a giant wolf, a form he had picked up from their recent encounter with the Fae and the Erlking, with Aideen astride his back. With an unnecessarily long and rather high leap, he crossed the remaining distance between him and the others--about three and a half store fronts--and landed easily on his massive paws. He lay down slowly and then Aideen slid off his back and waved silently to the others. "I thought I told you not to use that form in the city?" Garret chastised while frowning at Zoo. The big wolf resisted the urge to roll his eyes--an urge that Aideen heard from his mind which made her give him a reprimanding glance despite the tiny smirk it put on hr face--and shifted into a spider monkey before promptly clambering up Aideen to perch on her shoulder and wrap his tail around her neck. Happy? he thought sarcastically. Aideen fought a bigger smile and said, "I thought the point of this was to learn about law enforcement procedure and things like that. How are we supposed to do that in a place like this?" She motioned towards the are of the Lower Class District they were in. This district was not exactly known for outstanding law enforcement. |

The faint crakle of electricity heralded Mouse's presance, as he quickly bolted up the side of the building, fliping and landing softly on the railing. "The point is probably that we are supposed to be the law enforcers." he said, answering the question with the first thing that came to his mind, while tightening his wrist straps. He was dressed in his SSTC gear, which would help defend him in the case of a fire fight. It seemed logical that this would be some sort of training, probably nothing more then an introduction to how it was supposed to be done. |

"Mouse and Galahad are right" Garrett said. "If you don't come across anything exciting that means you're doing your job. We're here because we're more likely to come across something that can teach you about police procedure and what you're priorities are supposed to be in the event of a superbeing altercation" "You sound like you're reading that off of a card bossman" Giant said. "I pretty much am, look this section of the city doesn't see as much police activity because it's the ghetto pretty much. People don't trust the police here, for the most part they don't trust us either and that's because we always end up causing so much damage when we fight with our arms instead of our heads" Garrett said. "If you use your powers intelligently then you can take down anything with a minimum of collateral damage, or at least that's what Kilovolt always tells Sentinel" That comment earned a laugh from most of the group, Savant pretending not to be paying attention as usual. "Anyway, report" "Nothing all that impressive on my trek" Giant said. "Came across a couple non-powered Silver Dragons, took 'em down without any problems or "unnecessary force", waited for the cops and everything" "Good. Galahad?" "Nothing, not even a jaywalker" he said shrugging. "Me either" Savant mumbled her tone showing she was getting bored of this monotonous activity. |

Zoo shrugged his furry little shoulders and Aideen answered for them both, "We found some Nine Pieces fighting with a few Technos on the border between this district and the storage district, but we took care of it before any citizens were hurt. The gang members were more or less unharmed thanks to my pheromones, with one exception." She seemed to pause here and Garret looked at Zoo expectantly, but the little monkey was suddenly very interested with a strand of Aideen's hair. So Garret, and the rest of the group for that matter (except Savant), looked to the girl again. She dropped her eyes, embarrassed, and mumbled, "One of the Technos had been hiding in an alley while we captured the others. He shot some kind of daggers at me from a big rifle looking thing, but Zoo got between me and them and then...uh...detained him." Garret looked back at Zoo again who was now glaring defiantly back at him with his little arms crossed in front of his narrow chest. Garret didn't need Aideen's almost immediate interpretation of his recruit's thoughts to know the look said 'What did you expect me to do?' Garret sighed with frustration and closed his eyes. "How is the Techno?" "He'll be in the hospital for a while, several weeks to months probably," Aideen replied right away, "but he should be able to walk properly again within a year. I'm not so sure about his arm, though.... I looked him over myself. Also, a small shipment of lab equipment from Sunset Industries was damaged. I'm pretty sure nothing in it was too expensive, though." |

"Some Third Eye members were messing with some of the homeless, using illusions to mess with their heads." said Mouse, giving his report, "I negotiated with them to try to settle the matter peacefully, but when they tried to use the same tactics on me, I switched to aggressive negotiations." "How many?" Asked Garret. "Three suffering from mild paralysis, it should wear off about the time they arrive at the station." replied Mouse. |

Garrett looked them over thinking about what had happened on their patrols. With the exception of Zoo they all seemed to understand what he was trying to teach them. All in all they had a lot of potential, they were powerful kids to say the least and he felt a little proud that he was in charge of teaching them. "Alright I guess we can head back to base" Garrett said but stopped as the front of the bank exploded outwards, the vault door flying into the building across the street. "Or not" Copying Sentinel's powers he jumped to the opposite roof and looking into the bank as best he could, copying Alyssa's powers to know the situation. "Looks like you guys are going to get some hands on experience" "Wait a second, are we really supposed to get involved in this kind of thing? Shouldn't more experienced members take on whatever is trashing the bank?" Galahad asked. "Don't be such a wimp, look it's just Taurus. SS database say he's a really low threat level, I'll take him out myself" Savant said flying down and into the building, promptly flying out and into the vault door, bending it around her with the force that she hit it. "That isn't a low threat level" Galahad said worryingly. "Taurus is stronger than most of you have come across, he's low threat because given the chance he just runs and you don't want to let him do that. Show me what you're supposed to do in this situation" Garrett said, pulling up his communicator he continued. "This is Copycat on the scene of the LDC bank robbery, no need for back up" He looked expectantly at them waiting for their next move. Giant looked at the others and smirked. "Don't worry guys I'll have this dude down in three rounds tops" He jumped down and hurried into the bank, he didn't even bother to look if their were people still inside or any injured but simply engaged Taurus. "Hey little man let's get this settled yeah?" Giant said cracking his knuckles. "Just leave me alone alright? I don't want to hurt you" Taurus said backing away from Giant slightly, but Giant just kept moving forward. "Hurt me? I don't-" Giant didn't get to finish his sentence as a fist connected with his stomach and then a second with his face. The assault continued, though untrained the punches hurt, they hurt alot. After a few moments Giant got his bearings and began to block the attacks and fight back himself but this guy seemed more durable and not to mention stronger than him. They continued to fight crashing through tellers desks and into walls. Destroying some of the safety deposit boxes as Taurus pushed Giant into the small vault area where his movement was limited. "Where's Legion?" Garrett asked watching the scene, realizing that Legion wasn't with them. "Uh, right there" Galahad said pointing and moving towards the fire escape. Legion was already inside the bank taking the hits of debris and getting the people safely outside. Galahad rushed down the fire escape and ran towards Savant. He couldn't peel the thick steel door off of her so he cut through it very carefully instead. "Hey are you alright?" he asked. "Fine, get out of my way" she answered tersely. She flew straight into the fray with Giant and assisted him in causing even more damage to the bank while unsuccessfully restraining Taurus. |

Mouse followed, quickly slipping down the fire escape. He figured he would be little use in the bank, as his abilities were more geared towards combat. Hopefully he would be able to shock Taurus into submission. Moving in to combat range with the others, he entered a fighters stance and dodged as Taurus swung at him. Taurus had the size and strength advantage, but Mouse was nimble and quick, jumping over the blow and leap frogging off of it to land on his shoulders, releasing a discharge into Taurus. Taurus yelled angerly as the volts ran through him. Before Mouse could deliver another shock, however, he felt a yank on his tail as Taurus caught it, and pulled him off, using the momentum to sling shot mouse off of him towards a brick wall. Instinctively, Mouse curled up for the impact, his tail wrapping round him like a protective cage. As he his, a charge went through his tail, and the wall cracking upon impact, the hardened tail acting as a shock absorbed keeping Mouse from receiving any major injuries. |

As Taurus, Green Giant, and Savant burst from the bank and took their fight into the streets, Zoo and Aideen decided to take advantage of the distraction. Zoo, in the form of an oversized tree frog-like creature covered with the armor-plating of an armadillo, dropped from the rooftop with Aideen held securely in his arms. He set her down carefully and shifted back to his human form just long enough to call out to his comrades, "Get out of the way! Pheromones!" As soon as the words were out of his mouth he jumped high and shifted into the biggest bird in his arsenal, a Roc, and Aideen began pumping as many sedating pheromones as she could into the air. The others knew immediately what the word 'pheromones' meant and even Savant moved for cover as soon as she got the chance, although she wasn't happy about it. When the others were clear and Taurus was looking around, confused and wary, Aideen cried with her mind into Zoo's, NOW! The massive bird now angled his wings and started flapping towards Taurus, creating a small cyclone on the street and blasting the pheromones full into the face of the criminal. The effects of the pheromones were instantaneous. Taurus' eyes began to droop and his arms and legs began to slacken. He stumbled from side to side as he struggled to remain standing. Any civilians caught in the blast were unconscious before the hit the ground. But Taurus was tougher than that. The pheromones only affected him for a few seconds before he forced himself to readjust his footing and shook his head rapidly from side to side, clearing his mind of the windswept sedative. Before the pheromones could slow him down again, he bellowed and charged Aideen. He knew he had no choice but to attack and make her stop or they would send those pheromones after him until he finally passed out. Zoo, seeing his intentions, transformed instantly, changing from roc to T-Rex in a split second and crashing down between Taurus and Aideen. But even the seven ton dinosaur could not slow down the humanoid supervillain and Zoo did not have time to react further. Taurus collided with Zoo, broadside, and shoved him into the air with his powerful arms. Zoo was tossed out of the way and the other protochild had a clear shot at Aideen, who was still pumping pheromones into the air. But now that Taurus was close enough to get a good look at her, he no longer wanted to harm such a beautiful girl. Unfortunately, he couldn't stop himself and was only able to shift his weight so that he delivered a glancing blow instead of stampeding right over her. For Aideen, though, it was much more than a glancing blow. Taurus' leg slammed into her and sent her flying several feet down the street to lie in a crumpled unmoving pile. Zoo shifted back to his human form to gain his feet faster and was up in time to see her fall. The sight froze him, but only for a second. Then, he began shaking with rage. Suddenly, the animal instincts that were always a part of his mind took over and his bloodlust, his natural need for battle, overtook him like water from a broken dam overtaking a small town. The first time, he had managed to protect her. But this time, a lowly criminal, super or not, tossed him aside and bashed her down. Taurus continued past him with only a brief glance over his shoulder at the girl he'd struck and a small part of him in the back of his mind hoping she would be OK, but he didn't make it far. The others were already chasing after him, but Zoo was there first. Half-shifting into the tyrannosaurus form again so that he could still use his arms, he pivoted so fast he was a blur and grabbed Taurus' tail in a clawed hand. At first Taurus dragged him along, his momentum barely hindered, but Zoo quickly changed his stance and leapt forward, tackling the criminal into the street while latching his powerful jaws onto Taurus' shoulder. The tumbled about a hundred feet before finally coming to a stop. Taurus reached up and easily pried Zoo loose and was about to throw him off, when the shapeshifter suddenly morphed into a black widow spider and fell halfway down the other super's back before morphing into an ostrich with legs packed with rhino muscle. He slammed his powerful leg into Taurus' back with all his might, but only managed to knock him forward a few steps. Before the others could stop him and before Taurus could retaliate, Zoo was entwining himself around Taurus' body in the form of an anoconda, constricting as hard as he could and biting everywhere he could reach while roc wings burst from where his shoulder blades might be if he were in his human form and began to steadily lift the two off the street and into the air. |

There was a blur of gray the size of Taurus that collided with the villain and Zoo, and the gray mass went tumbling along with the stunned Zoo in its arms while Taurus groggily climbed to his feet. "You better sit this one out," Lolrus said sternly to Zoo. "We're supposed to bring them in alive." Meanwhile, a smaller blue figure whirled through the air overhead and landed neatly on the roof next to Garrett. "I thought you were sick," Garrett said to Spider, still keeping his eyes on the battle below. "And didn't Adam have an exam today?" "Doc Feelgood made a house call after I got sick of my mom bugging me about drinking lots of fluids," Spider replied. "And Adam finished early." "How'd you get here so quick?" A light blue blur whizzed up the fire escape and stopped on Garrett's other side, Twitch standing at attention and saluting with the wrong hand. Again. Garrett sighed and switched Twitch's hands. "And weren't you in Texas?" he asked Twitch. "I got bored and came home," Twitch replied, before getting distracted by the battle below. "Cool! A cow mutant!" Garrett sighed. "See if you three can help the others apprehend Taurus. And try not to destroy much." Spider shrugged and bounced off the roof, and Twitch was gone in a blur. Garrett sighed and rubbed his temples as Twitch ran full speed into Taurus and bounced off like a superball off a street sign. He hoped the others would follow Spider and Lolrus' leads, as they were the only ones in the group who had experience with fighting as a team, though not together. Spider landed on Taurus's back, just out of the reach, and began boxing Taurus's ears with a pair of street signs that had been ripped up by the destruction before. While Taurus began stumbling around and trying to get Spider off his back, Lolrus charged and shoulder-tackled Taurus to the ground before he could charge again. Taurus went down in a heap, tangled up with Lolrus as Spider leapt out of harm's way at the last second. Lolrus wrapped his arms around Taurus's arms and bellowed as loud as he could into Taurus's face. The impact snapped Taurus's head back and the villain's eyes fluttered insensibly. Lolrus let Taurus go and climbed to his feet, Striking a heroic pose almost by reflex. And then Taurus headbutted him in the small of his back and sent him tumbling into Spider, who was helping Twitch to his feet. Garrett sighed again and rested palmed his forehead. This was going to end up in a lot of paperwork. |

Giant ran up and upper cutted Taurus in the jaw only to be smacking into an adjacent building with a back hand. He ran back and was knocked back again, Taurus having the advantage in being smaller than both the Lolrus and Giant he was more able to dodge the attacks of both, especially while they were right next to each other and getting in the other's way. Savant flew in at max speed, plowing Taurus into a parked bus and was knocked backwards through a car and into a light post, her suit sparked for a moment. She stood just in time to see Taurus charging straight through Giant and Lolrus, and suddenly remembered something she read in the Shield database about how when charging Taurus could not be stopped by anything and could only be tripped by something even more durable than him, which was normally Sentinel, because other wise he would just plow right through it. "Oh this is really bad" she mumbled. "And it's about to get worse" Jeremy stood directly in Taurus' path, sword at the ready, prepared to trip him up with a slash at his ankle. Even though he was wary about using the sword since it was a lethal weapon he felt it was time for Taurus to be taken down. "Come on, just surrender already" Jeremy yelled to Taurus as he approached, swinging the sword at his legs and being kicked several hundred yards down the street through a parked car and the front wall of a department store, Excalibur stood embedded in the sidewalk in front of the store. "Jeremy!" Savant screamed opening fire on Taurus as she flew to beat him to the department store before Taurus ran through it. She flew down and grabbed Jeremy, taking a quick look to see if there were any people there but she saw Legion was getting the last of them out, turning around she saw that Legion was also dogpiling Taurus to try to slow him down to no avail. Without further investigation Savant flew from the building to where Garrett stood and laid Jeremy's unconscious form on the roof, checking him quickly for major injuries. It looked like several of his ribs were broken not to mention the obviously broken arm and the gash on his head implied a concussion, but he was still breathing which was an excellent sign. With a growl of rage Savant flew down after Taurus opening fire on him with everything she had. |

"Giant, Throw me!" said Mouse, as he tried to catch up. I a few moment's giant picked up Mouse and hurled him at Taurus. As he approached, Mouse wrapped his tail around Torus's eyes, landing on his back. and pulled. While it did little else, it did cause Taurus to turn, barely missing plowing through another building. Trying to keep himself from being hit by one of Sevants projectile, as well as evade Taurus as he tried to grab him, Mouse accelerated himself, letting the charge run through Taurus, causing Taurus to bellow in anger. He would not be able to keep this up forever, in a few minutes he would exhaust himself, but hopefully it would slow and/or stop Taurus. |

Zoo shook his head to clear it after being tackled by Lolrus. Presently, he was on his rear with his legs in front of him, only the soles of his feet on the ground. One arm was propped up on his kneed while the other was pressed against the side of his face, holding his head up. He squinted the uncovered eye open to see Mouse struggling with Taurus...and to see Taurus was headed in his direction again. Having been stunned out of most of his rage, the shapeshifter was thinking clearer now. Vengeance was still a high priority, but he needed to get Aideen to a doctor first. And fast. Unfortunately, she was on the other side of the runaway con. Then let's trip the fool, he thought to himself. He stood calmly and squared his stance, as if bracing himself for Taurus to run him down. In his mind, he was quickly going over the animals he could turn into, searching for one (or a combination of two) best suited for knocking the large protochild's feet out from under him. Finally, he came up with a combination that would hopefully do the job. As Zoo watched Taurus' stride carefully, trying to memorize the timing of each step, the shapeshifter morphed. His muscles were replaced with those of a black rhinoceros, as well as his skin, which became hard and thick. Zoo grew taller and wider. His face elongated slightly and a horn sprouted from his nose. His fingers shrank in slightly to half form the front legs of a rhino. From his back grew the largest octopus tentacles Zoo had. These, too, were fused with the altered muscles of a rhino to make them even stronger. When this transformation was complete, which barely took half a minute, Zoo charged Taurus. Like the con, he was slow going at first in this form, but after a few steps his speed grew until he was rushing almost as fast as the villain. At the last possible moment, Zoo fell back and slide tackled Taurus' legs, using his memory of Taurus' stride's timing to slam full force into the leg that bore all his weight in mid-step. The leg gave slightly and Zoo could feel Taurus start to overbalance. But he still carried forward to the next step, his momentum not reduced enough and his balance not totally askew. Then the tentacles went into action. The eight tentacles grabbed at Taurus, two to each limb, and pulled hard, using the powerful muscles within them and the Zoo's own momentum to yank the villain toward the ground as hard as possible. For the tiniest moment, it seemed that Taurus would continue on, that he would step over the young hero-in-training and drag him down the street, too. Then, the man-bull went down with a stumble and a resounding crash that rent jagged cracks all up and down the street and even shattered a few windows. |

Taurus struggled to his feet, peeling the tentacles off him with a few shivers of disgust. Finally free of Zoo, Taurus tried to run down a side street only to be downed again, this time by a flying Mjolnir. "About time you got here, Amazon!" Garrett shouted from the rooftop. "Minimum necessary force! That's an order!" Taurus rose again, shaky but solid and ready to charge. Lucy flew at him with her hammer raised, but Taurus managed to duck out of the way in time, and as she was thrown off balance by the swing he grabbed Lucy's foot and whirled around. As quickly as she had entered the scene, Lucy was leaving, hurled through the air, and Taurus was already at a run and heading away at speed. Lolrus looked at Taurus and then he and Spider shared a glance. Without a word Spider jumped onto Lolrus's offered hand and was hurled at the fleeing villain, landing neatly on his back and scrambling around to his chest with ease. Before Taurus could react, Spider was in his face and releasing all her webbing onto his head. She leaped away as Taurus kept running blindly on, slamming into the corner of a building with boarded up windows and taking out the entire corner of the first floor. The rest of the corner of the building, lacking any support, crumbled away within second and fell on top of Taurus. Unfortunately, the building was not as empty as it had seemed, and there were two people, homeless squatters by their look, were hanging onto what was left of the top story floor for dear life. Lolrus was on his way but too far to help, and though Spider was able to leap forward in time to catch one as he fell, the other man slipped past her fingers before she could grab him. She turned her head to avoid having to look at the man as he hit the ground, but a sudden gust of wind made her look despite herself. Twitch was already halfway down the block, setting the man down, and then he was beside her on the floor below, his arms open to catch the man in her arms. She passed on the man to Twitch, and then groaned as Taurus began to climb out of the rubble, ripping the webs off his face. "Why can't you be like other villains and just stay down?" |

"Why can't you just let me go?" Taurus yelled turning away from the group and charging towards the city limits. Before Twitch could move and before the others could go after him a flash of lightening and a powerful boom showed Taurus on his back and Garrett standing, silvery and with sparks of electricity. "Just stay down Matt" Garrett said. "Aww man" Taurus groaned staying where he was. "Ok Matt, here's the key, your usual cell" Garrett said helping Taurus up. "Alright, thanks for not hitting me too hard" "It's cool you gave these kids a good work out" "Glad I could help I guess" Taurus said walking toward the bus stop and sitting on the bench. "Hey do any of you guys have seventy five cents? I need it for bus fair" "Uhh, yeah here" Giant said handing Taurus the money. "Thanks, you guys were pretty good. I was just about ready to give up" Taurus said smiling and then getting on the bus as it pulled up. The group just watched in wonder as the bus pulled away on it's treads. The buses retrofitted for superhero battles. Savant hovered for a moment holding Jeremy carefully in her arms declaring she was carrying him to the Silver Shield doctor to be healed. "So we totally screwed up here didn't we?" Giant whispered to Legion. "Oh yeah. We totally screwed up" Legion said shaking his head. OOC: One more post from everybody before I close up. |
