Name: Skye

Birth Date: Not even Skye remembers anymore, but he believes he was born a few centuries after the first homo-sapiens emerged. His birthday would be about on April 19 if there had been modern calendars then. He appears to be in his mid-20’s.

Physical Description: Skye stands at a decent 6’1 and weighs about 154 lbs. His lightly tanned skin is perfect and unblemished in any way. His build is lithe and athletic. His muscle mass is only slightly above average, but his muscle tone makes him appear much more muscular. His black eyes are as dark as his hair. His hair hangs straight to the base of his neck, his bangs brushed slightly aside so as to only half block on eye at all times, giving him a mysterious appearance. From his back sprout two large black-feathered wings, spanning twenty feet from tip to tip. He always seems to have one of those all knowing half smiles on his face and gazes at everyone and everything with a look of indefinite experience and knowledge and an almost natural superiority. His clothing consists of a simple jet black tank top and dark blue jeans with plain white sneakers. His right forearm is covered a long black glove with only one finger covering have of Skye’s middle finger. The left hand hidden inside a black glove with two fingers, the middle and ring fingers, and the rest of the forearm is covered in loose fighter’s wraps that somehow never seem to come off in any situation. Two thin black straps adorn each of Skye’s biceps and two necklaces bearing crosses hang from his neck.

Job: N/A

Equipment: None. He tried a cell phone for a while, but the annoying little device irritated him too much so he dropped it off a six story building one day.

Powers: Regeneration. Skye heals at a rate never seen before. His cells split and replace themselves so swiftly that it borders rejuvenation. Any damage dealt short of dismemberment or anything similarly devastating, whether to bone, muscle, or nerve, heals within a couple minutes at worst. If he were to lose a limb, he could grow a new one within a few hours or simply reattach the old one. Bullet, shrapnel, or any other wounds caused by relatively small and lightweight objects will be pushed out of his body as it heals, but anything larger than a small knife blade would have to be manually removed. Most of his wounds heal almost as soon as they are inflicted or whatever caused them has been removed. In terms of aging, his regeneration is at such a level that he ages roughly 1year for every ten-thousand or so.

Illusion. Skye has the ability to bend light around himself or any object, depending on the size, within a 100 foot radius. Using this ability he can make himself invisible or appear to be someone or something that he isn’t. The same goes for any object smaller than your average bus that is within his reach. Stationary objects are child’s play at best, but moving objects require slightly more focus. The faster the object moves, and the larger it is, the harder it is for Skye to bend light around it. He’s so used to doing it to himself that it doesn’t matter how much or fast he moves, as long as nothing completely destroys his focus he will maintain whatever illusion he has around himself. Human sized objects, including actual humans, are easy to disguise or hide. It takes most, if not all, of Skye’s concentration at speeds of 150ish mph. The larger or smaller an object or creature is, the more proportionately easier or harder it will be to disguise or hide it.

Flight. Skye can use his wings to fly and even sort of hover in place by flapping his wings at a steady pace and at the right angle so he doesn’t move forward or backward and remains roughly in the same spot, drifting vertically about six or seven inches up and down. At top speed, Skye can hit speeds up to 350 mph. He can reach heights of 2500 feet and remain at such heights for about an hour or two before he must return to a lower climate. Much like a goose, Skye can also use his wings as natural weapons, swatting at his target with enough force to crack the concrete foundation of a building.

Skills: Knowledge Languages (Arabic, Swahili, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, English, Latin, Aramaic, Russian, Portuguese, Slavic, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and several Native American dialects)- Skye can read, write, and speak in all of these languages, the only exceptions being for those languages listed that have no written or spoken form.

Knowledge Sciences (Geography, anatomy, biology, ecology, psychology, sociology, chemistry, nano-biology, physics): Skye is very knowledgeable of these various sciences and is very skill at applying them in any situation where they can be applied.

Knowledge General (Engineering, demolitions, various martial arts, first aid, artistry, architecture, computer usage, hacking): Skye is rather well experienced in all of these and could teach most of them easily.

Knowledge Religion (Ancient Greece, ancient Rome, Christianity--Calvinism, Puritan, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Protestant--Paganism, Druidism, Islam, Mormon, Judaism, Buddhism, Mayan, Aztec, Incan, and several Native American religions)- Skye followed and studied all of these religions for at least a century or two, only for less time if the religion did not survive that long since he discovered it.

Aerial acrobatics: Having had several millennia to practice, Skye is a master in the air, able to turn on a dime without warning and pull out of the steepest dives even when he’s impossibly close to the ground. Even if someone or something can fly faster than him, they would still have extreme difficulty catching him.

Genius- While he isn’t smart enough to be considered super-intelligent, Skye has been learning for so long that he has actually increased his IQ over the millennia and it is now at 273.

Vast mind- Again, because of how long he has been alive, Skye’s psyche has become incredibly advanced and psychic intrusions into his mind are unadvised.

Personality: Skye is a very quiet and withdrawn individual. Not really hermit-like, because he does wander among people, but he rarely interacts with any of them unless he takes a particular liking to one. This happens extremely rarely, because, as good of a person as Skye is, it pains him to lose his friends. However, while he rarely reveals himself to anyone, he does interact with humans quite often, usually in an indirect way. He doesn’t like to see people in pain or being taken advantage of, so he will often do things to help those people without their realizing it was him who helped. He spends the majority of his time sitting on a ledge or roof of some skyscraper or another, simply watching the people below and thinking. Having virtually all the time in the world, Skye likes to think about things a lot. He abhors violence and will never resort to it unless in self defense, which he almost never has to do. He takes a particular interest in supers, good and evil alike, and so loves to follow along the various adventures of the heroes of Silver City. Skye’s most distinguishing character trait is his undying and insatiable curiosity. If not for his abilities to cast illusions and heal at an unbelievable rate, this quirk would have killed him several thousand years ago.

Past: Born roughly 250,000 years ago in North Africa, Skye was shunned even in such primitive times because of his wings. He was forced to survive on his own as soon as the elders of his group decided they wouldn’t have to care for him any longer, which wasn’t so hard because of his healing abilities. He quickly discovered that he could combine the two traits, wings and healing, to frighten away others so that he could steal their food. Over the millennia, Skye survived however he could, albeit as peacefully as he could, too.

Through the ages, Skye chose to simply be an observer, however because of his love for peace he has been forced to intervene in history numerous times. He would occasionally lend cryptic advice in a form fitting the religions or superstitions of the era or subtly lead lost travelers to their destination. On more than one occasion, he has thwarted assassinations on major political leaders and stopped wars from waging between powerful nations. Using his ability to shield himself in illusions, Skye has studied within some of the most prestigious colleges and universities around the world as they were born. As a result, some of the discoveries claimed by men such as Ford, Edison, and Duchesne—the ‘original’ discoverer of penicillin.

Skye’s most recent interest has been invested in the blooming supers that are sprouting up all over the world. He arrived in Silver City about thirty years ago and has stayed ever since, fascinated by the growing powers within the city. The Crash was...an interesting experience for Skye. Having been born with his wings, he never lost them with the rest of his powers. In fact, he wasn't even aware he had lost his powers at all until people began to point him out on his favorite rooftop. At first, he thought they were staring at another super, but he could find none around him. It wasn't until an anti-super fanatic fired a rifle on him that his loss of powers became all too evident. It was very windy that day, else he would have flown away, and it threw the bullet of its course. The round went straight through his shoulder, somehow missing the bone. Luckily, he tumbled over the edge of the roof and out of sight of the shooter and managed to sneak off without being seen again.

Skye managed to care for his wounded shoulder well enough that it didn't kill him or become infected, but it hurt constantly. He welcomed the Reboot with open arms. His healing and illusion abilities returned, healing his scarred shoulder completely and allowing him to once again wander throughout the city freely. Learning from past experience, he is careful to keep a more watchful eye on the reactions of others when he is in plain sight, lest he be shot again or worse. Today, he likes to keep a particularly close eye on the Silver Shield and the SSTC, hoping that they might provide a lasting peace for the city, if not more.

Although an interesting story the Crash removed any physical abnormalities as well as powers, as long as they were linked to the Protogene anyway. Does he look like a human from the time period he was born into or does his regeneration change his appearance to match the general changes? If not he would be very apish looking and be four feet nine inches at the tallest.

Well, he was born with the wings and I never said they were related to the protogene. You just said I had to make his ability to fly one of his powers. And as for whether he was born that way, yes. Just because it makes things simpler.
