Name: Omnus. Birth Date: October 31st, 1965 Physical Description: Omnus, when he decides to look human, takes the form of a human male, 5'10" and around 175 pounds. He has a moderate build, not athletic but not out of shape. His close-cut hair is black with streaks of gray, and his eyes are a hard steel gray. His face is weathered from both age and experience, but he looks more distinguished than old. His clothing is formed by his own power, so how he dresses depends on how he feels. As Omnus, which has become his true form, he is a 7' paragon of human form, his skin, hair, and eyes shine with golden light. He does not have any clothes in this form but is genderless, with muscles clearly defined but not chiseled as if he were a bodybuilder. His hair constantly shifts as if a light breeze is blowing through it, and golden light radiates out from him and illuminates everything withing 30 feet. Job: None Equipment: Omnus carries no equipment. Powers: Omnus is, effectively, now a manifstation of the very soul of the universe. Time for him is not a river to follow, but an endless loop that he can traverse at will. Energy and matter are his playthings, to the extent that he has surpassed the greatest of the Fae. However, Omnus is bound by "The Rules", something that he is unable to explain to mortals but is instinctively understood by all naturally immortal beings. Omnus is, to mortal perceptions, omnipotent and omniscient, but his powers can only be used in the best interests of the universe as a whole. Skills: Voice of the Universe- When Omnus gives a command, he speaks with such authority that only the strongest wills are able to disobey him without doubt and hesitation. Temporal Master- Omnus' powers give him a complete view of the time stream, and he is able to alter the flow without causing major changes down the line. Relentless- Omnus does not give up once he has a goal fixed in mind. Personality: Omnus is no longer human in his mindset. The deaths of a few are nothing to him so long as the greater good is accomplished, and he has no problem with performing acts that many view as 'Evil' if they maintain the universal balance. He keeps a close eye on those with superpowers because they affect the balance the most, but planetary leaders and the major powers of the other planes are also under his scrutiny. Past: Omnus used to be the Guardian known as Johnny Trek. He became jaded after years of endless fighting as a Guardian under the draconian policies of the Arcadians, and he retired to Earth after he took out an evil alien but failed to save a city from obliteration. It was during this event that he became impossibly tied to the Arcadian power, preventing the Arcadians from severing his connection without killing him. He lived for years on Earth as a bum, living off of garbage and handouts until the Crash. After the Crash John decided that his apathy wasn't helping anyone and only making him pathetic. He cleaned up his act and joined the Silver City Police. His experience and reputation gained him an instant post as a Detective, and even though he used to be a Super he found little prejudice directed against him; apparently he had a reputation of being an 'unwilling' super, using his powers as sparingly as possible and being one of the few worth having around. When the Reboot occurred, Valtrek was on vacation. He could sense through his renewed connection that the Arcadians were still reeling from the event and made his move. He refused to be brought to heel by them again and immediately forged a greater link with the power than the Arcadians would ever imagine possible. He transformed himself from a Guardian into the physical embodiment of the Guardian power, and when the Arcadians realized what had happened there was nothing they could do. John Valtrek had become Omnus, and independent entity with Guardian powers and a freedom from Arcadian control. His first act was to declare war on Arcadia and then establish a cease-fire under the following terms: They would neither seek to try to sever him from the Arcadian power (futile as that is) nor to try to control him through the Arcadian power (equally futile), nor would they ever use Guardians against him in any way, shape, or form. The Arcadians reluctantly agreed, realizing that their dream of universal peace would never be reached by fighting against one who sought the same thing albeit by different means. After the final battle with the extradimensional being known as Rorek, Omnus found himself made aware of a greater Truth. What was left of his humanity was stripped away in his all out attempt to rid the multiverse of such an evil being, and he pushed himself so far into the Arcadian power that he broke free of it and tapped into the very soul of the universe. Such power cannot be controlled without repercussions, and Omnus found himself bound to the universe itself. He is the protector of the status quo, maintaining the universal balance, the price he pays for wielding such power. Omnus, for the most part, stays on Earth. There is so much chaos here, and such a concentration of super-powered beings, that he feels that any form of universal peace has to start here and spread out. |

Note: This is to take effect immediately after 'The Harder They Fall' is completed. Omnus is to be used as a 'deus ex machina' for the site, someone who shows up occasionally during major world plots and the Everyday, but who is never involved in minor affairs. When he does appear, he is either there to maintain the balance of the universe by helping defeat a major enemy or keeping the heroes from being overzealous in their attempt to defeat evil, or he is there merely to observe and make sure the events unfold as they are supposed to. |

I look at skills and it says, these are powers, not skills. I mean forcing people to obay and changing the fabric of the universe should fall under powers, not skills, for any character NPC or not. |

No, they aren't. His powers already allow him to fiddle with the time stream. The skill says that he knows how to do it without rewriting the whole history of the universe. As for the voice of authority (and I'm going to give a blatant show of my feelings about certain military branches) I don't think you'd have a good example of that in the Chair Force. There are people who simply speak with such confidence that you find yourself doing what they say without even realizing why you're doing it. That's what Omnus does. It's not any sort of mental compulsion or anything else that counts as a power, he's simply somebody that gives orders and people tend to do what he says. I'll tone down the wording if it makes you feel better, but it's not going anywhere. |

I'm not sure about this one, he seems a bit uber powerful, so I'm gonna let Jake handle this one. |

Batguy has already explained the reason he is as powerful as he is. Think of him as the reason a Final Crisis could ever happen. |
