The dawn was breaking as Thorn walked down the pier. The past few weeks of training with Lilith had left him more and more aware of the fact of how helpless he would be against the Fae. His powers were very little, though it seemed Lilith was a particularly powerful fae. Still, he seemed no closer to his objective then he was before. Lilith had done a good job training him. He now had a grasp of how to use his powers, but he knew she wasn't telling him everything. He would have to have a trick up his sleeve, if he ever wanted to succeed in getting his name back. He knew now that the only way would be to steal it, from what Lilith had said, and he needed more information, both on the fae, and magic, if he was to make it through the fae realm without being caught. Lilith wasn't likely to provide the information he neded, and even if she would, he didn't know wither she was a trust worthy source. However, word in the Hedge spoke of a new inhabitant that seemed to be an expert on magic, which may be what he needed. The information the rhyming monkey had sold him told of a witch in a small house in the southern quadrent of the Hedge, and today, he was going to pay her a visit. The sign of pier 7 formed an arch over the pier, where he could enter into the hedge. He touched one of the wooden posts that held it up, concentrating as the world inbeteen the sign shimmered then opened up into a doorway, though which a Thorny path could bee seen. Passing through, he felt a tingle as his illusionary disguise fell away... |
