"Um, thanks?" Lucy said, eying Botella uneasily. She opened the box and immediately 'ooh'-ed at the necklace inside. "Wow..." She pulled the necklace out and looked at it closely, then unclasped it and put it around her neck. "This is really cool." "All right, see what Jeremy and Savant have for you," Garrett suggested. Lucy began to delicately tear at the box, and her jaw dropped when she saw the suit of armor inside. She gingerly removed the rest of the box, trying not to jostle the armor too much as she did so. "It even looks like it would fit me!" she exclaimed, grinning widely. "Dude!" Adam said in exasperation. "We had a spending limit! How are the rest of us supposed to compete with that?" "We had a spending limit?" Twitch asked, looking back as he held out his present to Lucy. "Told you he wouldn't remember," Arthur said aside to Spider, who elbowed him in the gut. Lucy took Twitch's present and began unwrapping it. She shrieked in surprise when she got the box open and grabbed the speedster in a bear hug after setting it down on the table. "A leather-bound second print set of the Lord of the Rings!" she squealed, picking Twitch up off the ground. "I thought somebody had bought this!" "Yeah..." Twitch gasped when Lucy finally let him go. "I bought it... after you said you wanted it..." "Well, it's not as impressive as the other presents so far, but me and Jackie pitched together and got you a family pass to the amusement park,"Adam said, handing Lucy a card envelope. "And a card." "I baked the cake!" Splortch said happily, melting into his natural form when Lucy thanked him and patted him on the head. "I figured that At least one of us would forget the spending limit," Arthur said, "so my present is actually from all of us." Arthur reached into his pocket and handed Lucy a set of keys. "You got me a car?!" "A motorcycle," Arthur corrected, waving down the protests from the others. "I got it at government auction, and divided out among all of us it was just at our spending limit a piece. Please." |
