From The shadows, Thorn watched the commotion. This was not looking good, it seemed that the populous was getting a bit negative in their reguards towards the more favorably endowed. He of course had a whole other world he could escape to, but he found the relative normality of this one to be a much needed anchor, and those currently being assaulted potential alliances that he would probably need. Of course, being part of Ghosts team now meant he could not officially support the Silver Shield since he was technically now a vigilante, but, fortunatly for him, magic could work suttle enough that he could probably make something to disperse the crowd without casualties... However, he never got the chance. A sudden calmness seemed to suddenly effect the crowd, many seemed to start to wonder why they had been so mad and began wondering away. Artanis walked through the dispersing crowd, his glowing eyes examining the passersby with a small note of confusion. *You humans have quite troubling minds at times.* he sent privately to the heroes gathered at the site of the rift, briefly touching their minds in greeting, *I find it strange that your minds are so open to anger against your own.* Artanis was learning much of human culture, enough so that he could now venture from Silver Shield under the condition that he limit the amount of minds he touched, except in an emergency. Technically he had just violeted those terms, but considering that he had done so to prevent a violent outbreak, logic dictated that the circumstances were enough to allow the use of his powers. There were still quite a few people, the more emotionally charged that resisted the calm that Artanis had sent out, since the alien was simply introducing it rather then actively enforcing it, it did, however, give him a clear path to approach the newcomer, looking at the thing on his wrist with a slight interest. *En Taro Kiernan,* he sent, noting an interesting and elaborate network of mental pathways as he touched the young mans mind. |
