The deal maker interested him and he wasn't quite sure why. Vimes was sure he felt something strange in that handshake and he would have sworn that the fellow didn't move right, like he was just an image over something else. He shook his head as he stepped on his cigarette. He was about to light another when he noticed that it was starting to rain and didn't feel like wasting any. Like the deal maker Vimes disappeared amongst the homeless, they were used to him and he never bothered them as long as they obeyed the law. He decided to keep an eye out for the deal maker. Find out what he could and see if he would cause any trouble. He jumped up and grabbed the ladder to the nearby buildings fire escape. He calmly walked up, prepared to finish his patrol and then maybe get some sleep.
