I'm sure we're all asking pretty much the same thing. Where on earth did the forums go yesterday/today? Or maybe we aren't, I dunno. Anyway, I'm sorry to tell you all, but there is quite a high chance the last few months of posting, pming, member data, and everything achived on the boards has been lost. Although there is still hope, yesterday Zetaboards attempted to update server 6 (the s6 part of our URL), but used the wrong hardware software and wiped the hardware drive by mistake. Wow. It must take serious skill to fail that hard. But in all seriousness, we should get everyone to make a topic that contains as much of the information that we can remember from the past months. And also, work on fixing the themes, and stuff. Anyway, might as well make the best of the situation, and keep up the RP Forum. Seriously, either that, or we need more games and stuff to do on the forum! Forum Arcade, More stuff to get involved with, and the like. We're also gonna need to get those social butterflies out there talking and advertising at any chance they get. |

We lost all data up to 2 months or so ago, including all the movesets I posted....shit. At this rate, we're taking larger steps backward than forward....better yet, I'm back to my old username

For the name of some holy cow's crap! >:( Well thank you Invisionfree for failing. I think people shouldn't go away or anything, start posting and working hard and we'll get this place going. Losing movesets is pretty bad, but are you sure they aren't saved somewhere else? I guess I'll have to post all the finished sprites or sth. |

I don't save 'em, I just post 'em. I've got the Aantorch line, because I posted them as an example of my work on Acanthite, but the rest I'll have to redo, and I've got a lot less time on my hands than when I made them the first time.... |

This place feels like a morgue now, not a forum A step back into the past, and we've lost alot of stuff. I don't think the way forwards is to try to re-create that. We should move on. No, I don't mean as in abandon the project; I mean this is the perfect opportunity buy the scarlet URL, as we're not loosing much by creating a new forum any more. I think this'd also be a great way to boost activity, for many reasons. 1). The general site would be a project anyone could help with, not just people with gifts in spriting and programming. 2). Our own URL would probably promote us more to members who don't join. It'd show them we have commitment. And people will be more likely to join a forum with a main site aswell. Also, we'd not ever have a problem like this again; we'd be reliant on ourselves to make sure things like this don't happen. I'm personally willing to pay for the URL, if that's the problem with this idea. I'm going to add a poll to the topic on what we should do now. |

Bugger. I saw the stuff about the server :/. Bugger again, I lost my avvy. And eebit's game staff again :O It's kinda weird, the forums being like this. It seems like we're the only people here :S. Anyway, the scarlet url would be great. As well as looking better and all, instead of re-creating, you could alter and change a few things, and if Scarlet itself was newer, old members would be more interested. You actually are kidding me. I couldn't be bothered reposting everything I worked so hard on Seriously, I'm extremely disappointed with InvisionFree for this. I haven't been able to view the forum for days, and I come back to this. Lovely. Well, we don't really have any choice but to repost all of the important things again. This also gives me the opportunity to improve the forum, and like Sprite Killer said, we'll need to work hard. To Inta_Xonem: 1. Super Whitey actually suggested the same thing a while ago. I think he knows someone who would be able to make a site for us. 2. Our own URL would be just great. www.pokemonscarlet.com/forum for the forum and www.pokemonscarlet.com for the main site. Have you any idea how much it costs to buy a URL? All I suggest is that if costs too much, then just leave it. It's not too important, but would make us all that more official. Well, it's the weekend, so looks like all I'll be doing in my spare time now is fixing up the forum Better get crackin'... |

I've bought several URLs in the past, and they seem to vary in price/the price changes often, although they always seem under ten quid. I'd be more than willing to pay that much to give us a URL if we were to make a main site. Although I can't remember how to register one at the moment, I know pokemonscarlet.com is available, and I can get my dad to show me what to do as soon as he gets back from the post box. As for servers, and creating the site itself, my dad does this sort of thing for his job. He owns a load of 'unlimited space' servers and stuff. So that's not a problem to us either. I'm not completely sure on everything you need to run a website, but I can handle it all. I've done it in the past. I'm personally working on a walkthrough webiste for a favourite series of games of mine too. Anyway, we shouldn't go reconstruct everything if we're going to get a URL, just the important things. |
