I'm back! This week we're featuring a Pokemon that was requested by Inta_Xonem, as well one that was fairly difficult to work with: Rotom. Rotom ![]() Plasma Pokemon Type: Ghost/Electric Height: 1'0" Weight: 0.7 lbs Trait: Levitate- Negates ground-type moves used against the user. Evolution Chain: Rotom does not evolve Available in: Diamond and Pearl Only one Rotom is in each game. To get it, you must beat the Elite Four and gain the National Dex. Then, go to the Old Chateau in Eterna Forest at night. Go to the room with the TV, and press A as if you were going to watch it. It will ask you if you want to tap the TV. Choose yes and you will encounter a level 15 wild Rotom. Rotom Item: Wiseglasses Trait: Levitate Moves: Shadow Ball Thunderbolt Dark Pulse/Charge Beam/Uproar Dark Pulse/Charge Beam/Uproar As I said, Rotom was kind of hard to put together. It has fair speed, and a very good special attack (equal to Electivire and speed-form Deoxys). However, what makes it difficult is its limited movepool. But I think I made it work. I put this moveset together as a sweeper. Rotom has the Wise Glasses equipped for obvious reasons. Shadow Ball is definitely in there. It's the standard-issue offensive Ghost move (80 power+STAB=120+Electivire's Sp.Atk= PAIN). And it may lower Sp.Def. More pain. Thunderbolt is there for the same reason as Shadow Ball, except it doesn't lower Sp.Def (obviously). Dark Pulse is there because I like making the opponent flinch, and the move itself is fairly powerful. Charge Beam works well with sweepers. The power isn't any good, but it's almost guaranteed to raise Sp.Atk. Uproar's power is even worse than Charge Beam, but the fact that it prevents sleep works well against opponents that like to use Rest repeatedly or put you to sleep. Alternate moves... Rotom has the movepool to function well as an annoyer, but not the stats, save speed. If it can connect a Confuse Ray before the opponent, then Rotom can finish up with moves like Substitute and Will-o-Wisp. Psych Up can also work well for the annoyer moveset. |
