You know what? I'm gonna go ahead and do a POTD. Sorry, Blood Rogue, but I'm doin' it. #38 - Ninetales Type - Fire Height - 3'7" Weight - 43.9 lbs. Abilities: Flash Fire- If hit by a fire-type move, user is healed and has their Special Attack raised. Evolution Chain Evolves from Vulpix with a Fire Stone Availability: Blue, Silver, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Pearl and Diamond. Wild Ninetales cannot be found. However, its pre-evolution, Vulpix can be found in all of the above versions. Moveset: Item: Leftovers Trait: Flash Fire Stats: HP: 304 Attack: 169 Defense: 208 Special Attack: 238 Special Defense: 245 Speed: 302 Substitute Will-o-wisp Spite Flamethrower I didn't really care for Ninetales much until today. This is the first time I got a good look at her learnest, particularly her new DP one. I discovered Ninetales works very well as an annoyer. Substitute is what it's always for. Annoyance. And Leftovers restores Ninetales' HP while she annoys away. WOW is another standard-issue annoyance move. Set up a sub and burn the opponent. Watch their HP slowly drop. Spite is rarely seen now, but it's particularly useful when your opponent busts out their sweeper with uber-powerful - but low-PP - moves. And Flamethrower's just to have an offensive move in their. It's about the best fire move out there, and Inta_Xonem(sp?) would be happy if it was there. Let's see, alternate moves... If you feel they work better, you could swap Spite for Disable or Grudge. But Ninetales could also be used as a special sweeper, using moves like Nasty Plot and Heat Wave. Well, that's Ninetales in a nutshell for ya. Hopefully, join Blood Rogue soon for another Pokemon of the Day. |
