Chapter 1: Does this involve getting up? The sun shone above Stroff Town, on a fine day. This was his big moment, his divining call, his time to shine. An odd Pokemon ran up the streets of Stroff. It was a gaudy looking, mailman-like flamingo Pokemon. It was entirely pink, except for its feet and beaks. The talons on its left foot were bigger than the right. It was running, with a backpack around its body. The flamingo made a stop at a house's mailbox, reached into its bag using its beak, and crammed it into the mailbox. With a single cry, the flag shot up. "Strots!!" The cry of the Strots made Argent jump a few feet in his bed, and then fall off, his head hitting the floor first. "Ow..." It took him a few minutes to right himself from his position on the floor, and, after seeing that he didn't have any brain damage, quickly got dressed and ran out the door. "Argent, dear, can you-" "NO TIME!" was Argent's reply to his mother. Argent had barely managed to wolf down his breakfast before slamming the door out. His mother let out a dejected sigh. "That boy just wants his Pokemon." She muttered. Unlike other regions, who let starting trainers get their first Pokemon at the age of ten, the Xiana Government made the children wait until they were thirteen, due to most of the overly violent Pokemon of the region. Argent had darted around the streets of Stroff Town at a pace he had never gone before. He was, to say the least, psyched to get his Pokemon. Near the lab, Argent turned a corner too tightly and slammed into a teenage girl about his age, nearly trampling her when he tripped over her fallen body in an attempt to continue going. "Well, i've had boys fall head over heels for me, but I believe that this is a first." The girl stood up, and Argent rolled on his back and lifted his head up to get a good look at her. Her hair was a blazing red, matching her eyes. The robes she wore were a deeper red, with a blue sash tied around them. Argent had noticed some dirt on the right side of the robes, where he had tripped. "Have you ever heard of taking it slow, Argent?" "Oh, it's just you, Scarlet." Argent stood up, and dusted off his monochrome robes. In Stroff Town, it was customary for everyone to wear robes of any color, but most people just wore the standard black and white robes, like Argent. "This is, what, the third time you've slammed into me?" "Fourth, actually." Argent ran his right hand through his unnervingly long black hair. "Let me guess, you're in SUCH a hurry to get to the lab, in case they run out of Pokemon for people like you and me?" Scarlet let out a giggle at her question. "They just got new shipments of Pokemon in. They won't be running out for another month. Now, get up. Let's walk together to the lab." The journey with Scarlet to the Stroff lab had to be the slowest minute of Argent's life. She had insisted they walk to the lab, and, in order to stop him from running, held his hand the entire time they walked. After they had made it to the lab, Scarlet went in the doors first, followed by Argent. "Greetings!" Called a voice. An old man in a lab coat stepped to greet the two. "I'm Professor Yew! I assume you two are Scarlet and Argent?" The professor received one enthusiastic greeting from Scarlet and an apatheic one from Argent. "Well, let's not dilly-dally. Let's show you the Pokemon you can pick from." He ushered the two to another room. "Ooh, maybe we can get a Fylis!" Scarlet squealed. She, like Argent, was jumpier than usual. "Keep dreaming, toots." Argent responded. "This guy's always got the same three Pokemon." When they entered the actual lab, there were three Pokemon, standing, as if they had been waiting for them. The one on the left was what appeared to be a tiny mass of vines. The Pokemon wore a skirt made out of leaves, had vines for legs, arms, and a torso, and had a bigger leaf for a head. "Jungos!" The Pokemon said. It danced around with its vine legs, and then bowed to the humans. In the middle, a Pokemon that looked like a candlestick stood. The middle candle had a mouth, and one eye. "Waxon!" This one cried. It waved its two candle arms around, and then shot two tiny embers into the air. On the right, this Pokemon swam around in a fishtank. Upon noticing Scarlet and Argent, it jumped out of its tank with a splash. It appeared to be a chibi shark. It cried out an enthusiastic, "Sokolon!", and landed on the floor. Soon after, this Sokolon realized that it couldn't move on land and flopped on the desk hopelessly. Scarlet ran up to the Sokolon, still flopping on the desk. "Oh, you poor thing..." She picked up Sokolon, and it calmed down instantly. It looked up at her with puppy dog eyes, as if begging her to pick him. "Professor Yew, I would like to take Sokolon as my first Pokemon." "Soko Soko!" Was Sokolon's response. "Well, Scarlet, Sokolon is a good, loyal Pokemon for you. Now, Argent, it's-" The professor turned to him, but he was gone. "Er, where is he?" Scarlet asked. As if in response, Argent's voice rang out from another room. "The wheel in the sky keeps on turning..." "ARGENT!" The shrill scream of Scarlet's voice made Argent run out of the room. "Oh, are you done?" He asked. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?" Scarlet screamed, making her Sokolon shiver. "Oh, some of the assistants let me try a Karaoke Machine. Now, is it my turn?" The professor nodded, astonishingly tolerable of Argent's behavior. "Alright. Since I know what Scarlet picked, this will be incredibly easy." Argent went up to the table and grabbed Waxon by the bottom of its base. "I choose Waxon as my first Pokemon!" "Waxon!". There was a pause. "Er, shouldn't you be choosing Jungos?" "Don't critique me, Professor." After the two had recieved their backpacks (Argent called them item-holdy things), six Pokeballs (One was for holding the starter), and their Pokedexes (To scan Pokemon, Argent was roped into this with the promise of caffeine), Argent was off, running toward the exit at top speed, with his partner, Waxon. |

Well, therein lies the problem. I haven't worked on it lately. I have to finish the map, the Pokemon, and I have to fix the forums. Much work. |

Chapter 2: Off we go to the magical lands... Most people are supposed to be incredibly hyper when they get their first Pokemon. They want to explore the lands of Xiana, fighting Gym Leaders, and collecting the ten Gym Badges. They want to fight the Elite Four, and participate in the Grand Xiana Tournament. So, why was Argent, a thirteen-year old on his Pokemon Journey, still lying in the grass outside of Stroff Town? It's a mystery to us all. "Well, Waxon, as much as i'd love to lie here forever, we kinda need to get moving." "Wax. Waxon." Argent's candle buddy sighed with relief. It must have been wanting to fight. Above, in the sky, a formation of cardinal-like Pokemon flew. They were red, with a brilliant crimson plume on its forehead, as well as its tail. "Hmm." Argent opened his Pokedex to scan this creature. "Carlume, the Cardinal Pokemon. They are said to fly in small groups. These groups show their plumage in the sky." Argent snapped the Pokedex shut. "Boring. Let's get moving." He called Waxon back into its Pokeball, and the two ran down Route 601. Route 601 was famous for having a miniature forest of sorts in the middle of the road. It was a calm place, but it was easy to be jumped. Argent watched some trees for a bit, and then attempted to continue. Before he knew it, some raccoon Pokemon had ran into him, stealing his backpack. They paused to look at him. Argent's Pokedex activated itself to scan these Pokemon. "Busos, the Raccoon Pokemon. They can form powerful thieving groups in the forest." "Oh, those little bastards...." Argent grabbed a ball from his waist. "Waxon, move out!" Argent tossed the Pokeball, and Waxon shot out of it, ready to fight. "Waxon!" "Alright, start with an Ember attack!" On Argent's command, Waxon aimed its right candle arm at the Busos' and shot some flames at the two. One took the bag and ran, but the other was too slow, and was burned by the flames. The other Busos ran off into the deeper part of the forests. "After him!" Argent shouted. He picked up Waxon and ran after it, unknowningly running into a nest on the way there. A small roach-like Pokemon with clamp arms latched on to the bottom of Argent's sleeve. "Rocha." Was the diminutive creature's response. Argent and Waxon finally managed to trap the little Busos between a few trees. It gave a steely glare at Argent, then suddenly looked around. The look on its face was one of sheer terror. The Busos dropped Argent's backpack and darted off. "Eh?" Was Argent's only response. He went and slung the pack over his shoulder. "Well, at least we got it back, eh, Waxon?" "Wax." An odd buzzing noise sounded, as if coming from all directions. One of the trees behind Argent was clipped in two, causing the boy to jump in the direction of the splintering wood. What was now hovering toward the two was a legless, overgrown roach. Its claws were huge, at least half a foot long. Its shiny abdomen gave a good look at his face. "Ro-Rokolos!!" |

Chapter 3: Roach Motel Five minutes ago, Argent had been innocently walking along. Now, he had to deal with a four-foot flying cockroach. "Rokolos!" The creature was shrieking at man and Pokemon. "This is not my day..." Argent hissed. He did a 180 and ran at full speed down the way he had came, the Rokolos following behind. Somehow, no matter which way Argent weaved through the huge forest, Rokolos had kept following him. The thing had clipped through at least three trees, and he was beginning to realize that he was going to die. "Hell...Well, let's go out fighting." Argent turned around, Waxon in his left hand, and ran backwards. He could see the Rokolos chasing him. "Waxon! Ember!" Waxon shot some tiny flames at Rokolos, but they seemed to have little effect. "ROKO! ROKOLOS!" The wild Pokemon's arm slammed into a tree, tearing it into pieces. "Oh, damn...Keep firing, Waxon!" Waxon shot out more embers at Rokolos. After a while, Rokolos seemed to tire out. "I think we have it!" "Wax!" Almost instantly, the Rocha that had stowed away on Argent's robe performed a nasty ViceGrip on Waxon. The candle Pokemon was knocked out of Argent's hand. "Waxon!" The Rocha and his brother, Rokolos, had cornered Waxon. "****..." "Wax..." Waxon glowed a brilliant red, and then shot out a stream of flame, swallowing both Rocha and Rokolos in it. When it was over, the two roaches were on the ground, fainted. "Holy crap..." Argent was amazed at this. "Wax." Waxon weakly hopped to Argent. "Wax!" "I'm impressed. I can't say i've seen that happen before." Argent looked around. "Oh, we're close to the exit. I can see the entrance to Optquest Town." Argent recalled Waxon, and entered Optquest Town, glad that his skirmish with the Roach Pokemon was over. |
