"I guess being a single mother of four, running my own business, and never having anyone who did do...that, kind of left me thinking you couldn't." In their defense, Harmony wasn't even all that positive that situations didn't just stop her previous men from doing so...but still. Already this relationship was making her feel a lot more innocent than she would look. Having four children and two failed serious relationships had aged her...truth was, Harmony hadn't even hit a quarter of a century yet. She was a 'baby', so to speak...just not in mentality.

"But I agree that it is better." She added as a late side-note. It was his next comment that made her still though. First, she was amused at the idea of his own offices signing a restraint order against a vampire, but it was the rush of warmth at the comment of him not going anywhere that scared her.

"I've heard that before." Her voice was quiet, more contemplative than wounded. She had heard that before. More than once, in fact, when things had gotten hard and she didn't think they were going to get through it. After she had been kidnapped, or when she and Dante were trying to patch up their relationship. Hell, she had said it herself.

The difference was, she meant it. She had stayed there, stayed loyal. She had supported both Dante and Tyrael through varieties of unfair and hard situations that endangered her and her children. She had been nothing but consistent. It got Harm thinking that maybe this relationship was moving too fast, too soon. Maybe she wasn't ready. Maybe she was just trying to fill that whole in her life that Dante had created. Except for...Dante and Henry couldn't have been more different. They were polar opposites, so to speak. While Dante was blue-eyed and blonde, Henry was the perfect stereotype of 'tall-dark-and-handsome'. While Dante was a kid in an adult's body, doing whatever he or the children wanted on whims and having fun in life, Henry had a solid job that he was devoted to, and seemed to have his feet firmly on the ground. Of course, she couldn't honestly say he didn't have fun as well...clearly.

Time would only tell if Henry would follow the trend of endangering her children and inviting whores into their bed.

"Do you have to go to work in the morning?" What was tomorrow anyways? She couldn't remember what day of the week it was. Time just flew into a category of 'not enough'.

Henry laid back, and pulled Harmony closer to him, taking a moment to brush a strand of hair aside. "I may be an old dog by your standards, my dear, but I can assure you that I will teach you new tricks." He smiled smugly, as his hands slipped down the young woman's body, resting on the backs of her thighs.

It had to be said that there was something that drove Henry's attitude about himself that wasn't just his ridiculously high level of narcissism, but it was something close to insecurities. Henry was the little brother who always aspired to be like his older brother. However, when his brother died, Henry felt like he was to blame. But rather than feel that vulnerability, he put up his cocky exterior.

When Harm responded to him saying he'd not leave her, Henry furrowed his brow and pulled away slightly to look at her. "Sure, I can't promise you that I am going to stay for the next 50 years, but I like you... I must because if I didn't, I would have left after our kitchen romp." He admitted, before kissing Harm's lips. "I like you, and you're a vampire. And so far, you can't do anything about being a vampire, so I will have to learn to deal with it. Not usually part of my personality, but I will try."

Out of all the things that Henry could admit, he had to admit to the unyielding nature of his personality? Maybe that would help Harmony let him try to be there for her, if he showed her that he was willing to try. He didn't have to, she could have as easily been a contact in the little black book, but firstly, he assumed she wasn't that type of lady and secondly, he was growing tired of that nonsense. Henry was in his mid 30's, it was time to grow up.

When she asked if Henry had to work, he smiled and shook his head. "No, they force me to take days off, seeing as I go in most weekends. My secretary takes my clearance from me as I leave and owls it to me in the morning before I have to go in, so I purposely can't be there some days. Tomorrow is that day." He joked, laughing lightly, turning the question on Harmony. "Are you busy tomorrow?"

"You're not old." Harm immediately laughed, allowing him to mold her body to his. The intimacy was weird. Not weird in terms of how close they were - especially given the fact that they had been closer...several times - but weird in terms of the fact that it'd been over a year since she'd snuggled with anyone over the age of ten. And really, she just needed to turn off her mind and her reservations and enjoy the moment. Worrying about things wasn't going to help her. Instead, she focused on the heat of his hands against her cold skin, closing her eyes in simple bliss.

She opened her eyes when he started talking again to look at him, silent for a moment before she just smiled and brushed the wrinkles caused by his frowning with her fingertips. "And I think it's far, far too soon to be thinking about anything in the future but now. It's fine. As long as you can accept that I'm a vampire and I have children, and as long as you can be patient with my wariness, we'll be fine. Thank you for trying."

It was fine. It was hard not to feel fine when she was pressed against him, more sated than she thought she had ever been in her life.

Her lashes fluttered shut again as they moved on to work, lips quirking up in amusement. So he was a workaholic. That wasn't a bad trait to have...it simply told her he worked hard and was determined. "No, not exactly. I pick up the kids again in the morning. It's not his weekend to have them, so he was doing me a favour tonight."

When Harmony laughed at him calling himself old, Henry laughed along with her, he was glad that she was just taking it easy. He couldn't imagine how much she did in a day, but she coped. If one thing was for sure, Henry didn't think that
he could do what she's doing. Four kids, a business and an ex that had to be in his life, yeah, something wouldn't work well. He could do it as part of a couple, but not on his own.

When Harm brushed her fingers over his forehead, he stopped frowning, because it was a sweet gesture which made him smile. "Of course I will be patient."

When she mentioned that she had to pick the kids up in the morning, Henry's smile faltered. "So what you're saying is I need to disappear before you get them?" He asked, making sure, because he knew she didn't want him in the children's lives before it was something serious. Also, that was understandable because not worth having him in their lives if things between he and Harmony didn't work out.

Harm nodded slightly, satisfied when he said he would be patient. Of course, thinking about that...she probably should have been a little more patient herself. She'd never particularly been a sexual being before, so this situation had definitely taken her by surprise. However, things didn't feel complicated. "I should have made you court me more." She teased idly, trailing her fingers over the bare chest she was looking at, given the way her head was resting. "Work harder for the amazingness that clearly was me."

Not that she regretted it. She seriously just felt...good.

Harm realized how her plans had sounded for a moment, looking at him in curiousity at how he worded his response. Always thinking through her responses first, it took her another few seconds of silence before she answered, "I don't want to wake up to an empty bed, if that's what you're asking. We could have time for breakfast, if you eat that, before I go get them."

Henry laughed when she tried teasing him, but he understood where she was coming from. He only pushed for sex when he knew he wasn't coming back for another date. But because conversation was flowing and they had no problems talking, Henry knew he'd be back, at least once more. And that's how he would play it, date by date. "I can work harder next time, make the outcome just that much better" He teased to Harm.

When she remained silent and tried reassuring him, he nodded, then stay he would. Early mornings were nothing new to him, so depending on when she went to get the kids, would depend on when they got up. "I do eat breakfast, and then when you know who has the kids for the weekend, I will treat you." he smiled, before rolling over and pinning Harm to the bed while he rested on his forearms. "Would you like tucking in this evening, since you're the one on tuck in duty all the time?" He laughed, kissing Harm's neck.

Right now, Henry wasn't sure if he could go again, but idly snogging her wasn't out of the question. It was just nice and relaxed, no urgency for anything to happen.

Harmony grinned, raking a hand through her half-dried hair. In the morning it would be crazy and knotted, but she was too comfortable to bother with it at that point in time. Maybe she'd worry about it a little bit more when she woke up in the morning and he saw her for the first time that way, but right then she didn't care. "Well, if you'll work harder, I'll play coy and resilient."

Resisting come-ons had never been too difficult for her.

"Well good. I have perfected the best breakfast ever. I always get so many compliments when I fix it." Harm said, laughing again as she was suddenly being pinned into the bed. Merlin, this man had drive. Or a one-track mind, but it was still highly amusing. "Every other weekend. Next weekend is his." She told him, her voice dropping down a little in a purr as he leaned down to kiss her neck. "I would love to be tucked in." She then agreed, looking out at him from under her lashes. It was fun not knowing what to expect.
